Issue
while I was playing the game the other day it crashed out and I was unable to reopen the game, I also checked crysis and both 32 bit and 64 bit versions
the issue was that the game would freeze up before the splash screen would open, and leave a plain black screen and then crash to the desktop giving my no indication as to what was the fault
Solution
after finding out the issue affected crysis and both versions I knew it wasn't just the exe's...after further inspection I found out that the profile.xml file had corrupted to resolve this I simply renamed it rather than deleting it (Incase I was wrong)
the file can be located in Documents\my Games\Crysis\profiles\(your account name)\profile.xml
I just couldn't find a fix on these forums so after resolving the issue myself I taught it would be helpful to post it
