TAG won't work unless lazing an enemy would seem to be the ideal solution to this and other problems...

Bensam hit the nail on the head. The thing is the same people who love the game so much they think its perfect are the ones who do it the most damage. The devs need people to bring things up, yes even the silly obvious stuff, because its so easy to overlook something. If you just sit there being a "yes man" what exactly are you helping?

And are people actually holding grudges against uranium because of some of his posts? Really? Yeah I thought the "no mechlab" post was silly myself, but you know how I showed it? I didn't bother posting there. I peeked in from time to time to see if there was a following for his idea...there wasn't so there was no need for me to post with a counter point. Do I now hate him because he made a post I didn't agree with? No, he was just doing what he thought would help the game....

I never said I hate him, just that his posts are discredited. Hating someone just because they have dumb ideas sometimes is a bit vindictive, no? At least he -has- ideas, unlike many of the brain-dead cretins on the intarwebs.

And as to "Not bothering to post", I turn your argument right back around - the contradictions may seem obvious, but someone has to state them.

Well look at that fellow on the previous page. Thats anger coming through in his post...Which imho is downright silly. Though it doesn't really matter I was simply making a point.

Actually if no one is agreeing with the OP why do you need to state them? Yeah sure if the conversation picks up and people start agreeing then yes the other side needs a voice. Though if right now I make a thread about how the atlas needs 4 heads and no one posts in that thread to agree with me isn't the topic dead in the water? Sometimes posts made on silly threads to counter whatever arguement only serves to keep a useless thread bumped.

And what would your preposed solution be? What is the purpose of a post like this? This is why people discredit your posts. There will always be bad players out there. No game can stop people from being stupid.

No, people discredit my posts because they think I have some personal vendetta against the game. I was one of the first people to openly criticise the VTOL whoring, so all the pilot dicks got defensive and the best they could come up with was 'lern2play'. The fact that this was followed with a dozen other air-whoring complaints and an indirect nerf to aircraft was lost on you simpletons. Last time I tried to come up with solutions to a problem? KingLeer pulled the most godawful asinine analogy out of his ass to write it off completely - so why should I even fapping bother?

Or maybe I shouldn't have said anything, Highlander. Maybe I should be so concerned with your delicate feelings and how it distresses you so much to read posts that dare suggest something is wrong with this game, that I should have kept to myself this idea for making teammates TK each other. Maybe I'll go find you in-game on Clear Cut and just shoot a TAG into your ass so you get fragged by Arrow IVs for the entire round until you make this post yourself.

I don't discredit you because I think you have a personal vendetta. I disregard the majority of your posts because many of them degrade into little more than swearing and name calling, which, in my opinion, moots any good points you have.

Just because we allow swearing on our forums doesn't mean you have to abuse the privileges. It nullifies your arguments by making them seem like personal attacks, even if you actually have good points in there.

If you'd like your posts taken seriously by more people, especially Devs, use less of an argumentative tone. I've seen you make good points, but if you continue to use a belligerent tone your points will continue to fall upon deaf ears.

Hmm . . wonder how(if the devs decide to include it) reflective armor would work with tag? O.o
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

Oh sheesh look what I got myself into. I admit my post was a tad out of line. Still,

Defender is spot on here. I personally discredit much of your posts because all of your counterarguments almost consistently fall back to flaming to one degree or another, no matter how hostile or docile the response was. Which is a shame, some of your points are great sometimes.

And what would your preposed solution be?

Why? Because he brings things up? Thats how things get noticed and fixed. The game is not perfect ...its in beta. You are SUPPOSED to bring things up as it helps improve the game. Sure not everything people bring up will be important, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't bring it up. If it is truely an unimportant issue it will simply die away because no one will care enough to post in response to it. In otherwords don't try to flame people for trying to better the game. If you truely don't agree either don't post or give a valid reason why you don't. Its simply far more productive....

Yeah most this stuff is warranted, as I said it was not one of my brighter moments.

And what would your preposed solution be? What is the purpose of a post like this? This is why people discredit your posts. There will always be bad players out there. No game can stop people from being stupid.

I don't think this thread is pointless because it adresses an obvious problem that occured on a server and three people managed to come up with ideas how to adress it. How could you miss all that and come up with such a dumb and retarded reply? Why would anyone care about the credit of people like you and your pointlessness?

Oh those three solutions? My word lets see:

1. Proximity matters. A fact not a solution.
2. Kick them
3. Shoot them

I find it hard to believe these require brainstorming. Again, it was not a very good decision of me to post that but you did respond to it with exaggerated information and more insults.

Finally I apologize and hope we can move on from past mistakes.

Why not make tags show up as a different colored radar contact? then the one selected would be the one missiles homed in on. And it would be easier to avoid invalid TAGs.

I wouldn't want to loose the ability to Lase the ground beside an enemy BA, and see LRM's explode around him :D
