  • Life is cheap, mechs are expensive.
I'm having a good... no, great time playing MWLL, but I really think that to get the most out of the development and enjoyment of the game that it may be best to put some of the other features on hold until they can convert it to using Crysis Wars. I realize this could mean we'd likely not be getting much if any new content for several months or more from where it is today, but the advantages this would have for lag and computer performance is very titillating when realizing how superior the Crysis Wars engine is over the original in many respects.

Obviously on the flip side there are quite a few enhancements they have planned that will be perfectly enjoyable as is and seeing those will be a treat, but I wonder about the increasing difficulty of this conversion at a later time with more features present if its still indeed on the plate.  Just something to think about.  Keep on mechin!

I don't think this is really an issue thats up for debate, considering none of us know how much work is involved in porting it to Wars...

I'm a greedy little mechy and would like the current mod to be fleshed out to at least 1.0.0 before any consideration of transportation.

The Devs allready said that they'll port over to wars sooner rather than later.
For sure with the final 1.0 release(if they ever decide it's done) and maybe with a later Beta allready.

We have a plan. This plan consists of future releases of content for Vanilla and a dual-content release for Vanilla and Wars, from then on, it's Wars. I can't give a timeline though, just noting for everyone we're not done with Vanilla yet.

Hmm . . you guys probably can't tinker enough with the engine so for a certain time vanilla and wars mod will be compatible neh?

  • It's true, I'm the original.
This one is a no-brainer.  Use the engine that is best for online play.  There are too many players having lag issues with beta and Wars will fix the problem.
'Nuff sed.

Not entirely true. But yes there are improvements :).

We're still working out the proper timeline for this to happen, but rest assured - the switch to Wars WILL happen.

yes and with our luck (people who love mechwarrior games) we will get the same crap in the MP version of Crysis 2.

or worse...
Crysis hadn't got very nice multiplayer in first version, without any patch, as far as I remember, so the same thing may happen with Crysis 2.

Anyway: I prefer completed mod for Crysis 1 than unfinished for Crysis 2 :D

This is correct. Crytek screwed the multiplayer crysis community heavily. Support vanished while significant bugs still remained.

I never played crysis wars so I couldn't comment on the changes (I do own it). I can say that if you had a good connection Crysis worked well on large power struggle maps. When you exceeded 100-120ms response time thats when things would go bad.

Are you nuts or something? Crysis 2 won't be out till mid-2011 and already you want to port to that game, ya crazy. As for my vote, I've waited for new content, I guess I can wait some more. port for Wars! and while you're at it. . . when you do port for Wars give us the rest `Mechs for Crysis 1 will ya? I want that Nova Cat and Blood Asp.
