@(TLL) Heretic
I couldn't put down the first 2 but I'm having trouble reading the 3rd "The Price Of Glory" as I said before its boring repeat of the first.
The fact that William H. Keith Jr got to butcher "Tactics Of Duty" doesn't help. this time the Gray Death legion is in the place of the Duke/Lord.
I think Michael A. Stackpole (The first Battletech novel writer just published 3rd for some reason) would have done a better job.
But I should blame the writer it may have been Fasa and its outline that they wanted.

@Ghiest
Gloss over?? they got another novel

The funny thing is I prefer Keith ways before Stackpole. Everytime I tried Stackpole I got bored somewhere along the story (or did get other negative feelings toward him...)
Please don't mind my bad English since I'm German.

Really?  I mean I like Keith but I found Stackpole always had enough of a mix of politics mech combat and character development to keep a story interesting :-\

In short in matters battle armor, aerospace and omnimech
I am the very model of a rabid fan of Battletech

After reading a massive chunk of Stackpole's work (both Star Wars, Battletech and some of his fantasy), I found Keith's writing more engaging. The battles felt more real and flowed better than Stackpoles. Plus the characters were more interesting.

I got the whole novel set of the original BT line. (like 62 books) and never read any Dark age stuff.
When seen together. all the GDL books have something to do with traitors and spys.
But the last novel about the Gray Death Legion was like a kick in the nuts.
even more so, i played as a GDL player since the start myself.
still the stories were always great and i had to urge to read until late nights to see the outcome of the hopeless battles.

i recently read about the first Glengarry battle against Sky where McCall and Alex Carlyle where defending while Grayson was on Tharkad at Victors ceremony. (Hour of the Hero)
But the open end where Grayson had to come with the Highlanders to save the GDL was disapointing.
Some novels just end to sudden.

Blood of Heroes is the book you are referring to, and man did that end piss me off. The build up was amazing, and then....nothing.
