Map Packs?

Hey guys, Well basically I've checked around the forums but i couldnt find a map pack with most/all the maps being used.. I found an outdated topic leading to megaupload which has been shut down though haha.

If someone to link me to one? if there even is?

Downloading from the server takes hours per map so I'm looking for a faster way! ^_^

Try looking on www.mwllmaps.com ... it's not quite a map pack, but it does have the maps you'll need if you want to avoid a lengthy dl upon connecting.

I've gotten in the habit of pulling down maps from there once the map developer posts that it's ready for play or that they need feedback on one that's mostly done.  Grabbing one here and there during my workday is massively less tedious than waiting to pull down the map at the same time the rest of the people on my server are also doing so.

Btw a few of these servers give off a " Server Auth failed " I'm finding it hard to connect to non aussie servers because of my ping  being 400 lol. It always displays high. Gives an incorrect ping.'

You might want to check if your CD key is being accepted by Gamespy then. One easy way is using this tool: http://forum.mechlivinglegends.net/index.php/topic,17421.0.html

If it comes up as invalid check both ways, with and without the CD key dashes every 4 characters.

As it happens, I still have the map pack online, that I created for Operation Viper. I am paying for Dropbox anyway, so no reason not to use it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/310289/Op_Viper_Maps.7z
That should contain about all custom maps currently played in their latest version. Feel free to download it, everyone. No promises on continued availability or updating, though.
Oh, and be advised, we are talking 1,4GB here...

Now you just need to follow this guide and replace the %CDKEY% part with the one that was valid with its dashes:

Open the following file in a text editor (ex. Notepad): [steam root]\steamapps\common\crysis wars\installscript.vdf

This is just an extract from the file but the %CDKEY% part is important:

    “registry”

    }
    }

This is the part that overwrite your CD key with the wrong one. To fix this issue permanently remove the %CDKEY% part and replace it with the properly formatted Crysis Wars CD Key.

After this run Crysis Wars/MWLL from Steam at least once, so it runs the installscript and updates the CD key in the Registry.

Ugh, I got Server Auth (3) when I first tried to get the mod running too. Ended up getting a new key from EA support (Crysis Maximum ed).
