I am on mirage, I am sneaking behind enemy lines, passive.

No enemies know I am there, I come up behind a madcat that is sporting PPC and AC.  I am using lasers and gaus.

I fire at his back, he hasnt turned around, I fire again, nearly getting his CT, he turns, fires his PPC and AC at me.

I crash to desktop.  Get back into the game, and I had been killed.

Memorable for me because it was the last straw until they come out with another patch before I play this game.  Not only did I have probably the coolest game moment absolutely ruined, I had to pay for it with a death.

WTF.

it was funny as hell, i cant begin to think how pissed he was... i think his name was examinous or something.. if you are reading this man, HI! :D

His name is Exanimous, and I had a run in with him as well on Frostbite.

It was early in the game, I had just upgraded to a Cougar Prime and Exanimous asking if anyone had some extra cash for ammo. I happily obliged, giving him the 1000 C-bills or so he needed for more HGauss ammo for his Thanatos. I moved ahead at a brisk pace from the clan hangars and moved to a hillside dotted with trees overlooking a base and saw the main battle happening on the other side of the valley. I crouched and started locking on with LRMs.

A few volleys in Exanimous moves past me and toward the fray. I keep launching missiles, focusing fire on a Hollander that appears to be causing problems for some of our guys before he disappears behind the opposite hillside in a complicated circle of a death. An enemy Uziel presents a target, so I start LRMing him.

As Exanimous gets into the battle he focuses fire on the Hollander, who has now recently appeared. At this point I'm about 120 LRMs left in my launchers, so I start focusing fire on the same Hollander. My missiles fly, Ex fires a HGauss round into the holly, my LRMs connect and blow it sky high. What happened next I have never seen in MWLL.

There is a Team Chat from Exanimous, "Zeus, you stole that kill, you owe me."

I replied, "lol, you're joking, right?" The battle creeps within 600m of my position, so I start raking Large Pulse Lasers into the nearest target along with LRMs. There is no reply as the battle gets intense. My LRMs slam into another mech that I'd been blasting into, blowing it apart.

I jokingly say in team chat, "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to steal that kill."

Exanimous doesn't sound amused, "That's two you owe me for."

I turn around to return to the hangar, having only 10 LRMs left in each launcher (the Cougar carries 240 per launcher) and I respond on the way, "Seriously? I landed 230 LRMs x 2, I don't think I owe you anything."

This started a massive $hi+ storm over chat about how "as a team game I OWE him the money for the kills because he did MASSIVE damage to those enemy mechs."

Ultimately I replied, "Listen, I'm giving you the money because you can use it and I'm fine upgrading to my Vulture Prime, but for the record, I don't OWE you anything. As a team game we work together, and I share cash when I'm able."

Not long after the server crashed and I ran into him on Huntress where he was talking with Karuik (I think) and some of the SJs about joining them. Just so you guys know, this is the type of pilot you might be recruiting. Maybe you think he's right in that I owe him money, but from where I sat, I landed 46 LRM salvos into mechs as well as a large number of LPL hits, I think those kills don't belong to anyone. After all, if the target is so weak that a few LRMs could kill it, why didn't you finish him off? :)

If you eject, turn around and one shot ANOTHER mech that you were not even fighting (I did it once :-[)
THEN, you might owe someone some cash, but what he said is just retarded. This is a team game, and you did about as much damage as him (maybe more, I don't use LRMs or Hgauss)

Kill stealing should not be any problem in a team game.

Let's say you have a POTENTIAL kill shot on an opposing mech.  Who's to say his teammate won't come by and knock your heavy gauss off your mech and get the upper hand on you before you kill the opposing mech?

I don't mind if someone kills a mech I am targetting that is about to die.  That's teamwork.  And a good percentage of the time, my teammate who "steals my kill" has actually saved me from dying myself.

And if you have good teammates, they'll share the money they get from the kill anyway with you.... at least I do.

Yesterday on Mirage. I was in a UAC20 Hollander brawling towards to enemy in "late middelgame". I had a short skirmish with a Madcat Prime, but we both decided to withdraw. I toke a small path though the mountens, trying to get into the Cats back. But he was prepared and when i came out of the canyon, he was only 200 meters away and facing me. I hit him with the UAC two or three times before he managed to distroy the weapon with his Lasers.

The only thing i had left over was my for flamers. I yelled LLLEEEERRRRROOOOYYY and stormed directly towards the Cat wrapping it in flames. He must have bin allready heated up by the extensive use of his lasers because the cat blew up after only two or three seconds of fire.

Just like Kai Allard Liao when using the Tomahawk's Axe i was like "Holy ****. This thing really works !"

I took my Hollander back to base to get a new Mech to bring doom upon the enemy team :-)

I was using a Demolisher Prime, which is my fav thing in the game probably, sitting on the pathway where everyone floods into (in passive radar of course). Thanks to its low profile, nobody coming over the hill could see me. A Madcat Mark 2 crests over the hill majestically.

He looks down on me a prepares to fire his weapons, I fire both AC20 into his cockpit blowing the pilot up in a bloody mess as the mech does a flips backwards, lands on his head, and lays down on the ground. Followed by a exploding fusion reactor.

Yesterday we were in game on Frostbite that was decided by less than 20 points.
We were ahead early but then got stomped late game, at the end of the game I tracked out a Huit C (Gawd I love that thing) and there as an Atlas, Two madcats, and a Gauss vulture waiting just outside my base. I killed one of the madcats at a great distance since he was damaged, my team mates distracted the Atlas and it wondered over a hill while I shot arrows at the Vulture and shot the other Madcat with my lasers. I was yellow by this point and finished the Vulture when the near undamaged Madcat came marching over the hill and began to pound me leaving the Atlas against two of our mediums.
We brawled at point blank with him circling me and beating the hell out of me while I desperately shot as many lasers as I could and turned my tank to absorb damage. Finally I spun my tank around and with all dark red damage intercepted his circle and when he walked right in front of me... WHAMO two arrows to the face, I jammed the coolant button and finished him with a barrage of lasers having black damage on most of my tank. With 30 seconds left the Atlas was just on the other side of the hill and only one BA which had ejected I think was left to fight the Atlas, but he had a TAG. I fired my arrows up and saw them go straight over the hill. This did just enough damage to the Atlas to put us over the top with about 20 seconds left and my team mates kept the lead while I limped back to base. It was sexy.

Also in the prior frostbite round I was being chased by a red Bushwacker A in my orange Owens Prime until I noticed he was almost red. I turned around and charged him straight on while he unloaded with his RACs, I tilted down and slammed myself into him firing all my LRMs into his face and charged straight through the exploding carcass with all black torsos.
That also was sexy.

I have always dreamed of flying the Shiva C with its 4 Fbombs, 2 PPCs and 4 extra tonnes for space for an additional 4 Fbombs, but never been able to score enough to be able to pilot one.
I was playing on Sandblasted today, I was on the IS team when someone suggested someone Fbomb the enemies.
I had just sold my mech and only needed 40k to be able to buy the Shiva, I asked in team chat for 50k so I could afford the extra ammo, but I think the others were too busy to notice my question.

Instead I went for the Sulla with Fbombs, and after 2 runs the subject came up again, and that's when one of my teammates, he went by the name Ice and I think he deserves an honorable mention for this, suggested for the team they pool money for me so I could fly the Shiva.

And not long after I had over 200k, more than enough to buy the Shiva and extra ammo.
I got the opportunity to fly around in the Shiva and bomb the crap out of the other team for about 20 minutes and its the best moment I had in the game so far.

I would like to extend my thanks to Ice and the others on the IS team playing on TLL Matchbox #2 EU-UK server, map Sandblasted, for helping in making my dream come true and give me some good memorable moments.

was getting owned by Shiva bombers on sandblast while their mechs were long ranging us.  We had some AA but they couldn't target concentrate fire since there we so many air assets.  I try to go air to air but as everyone knows i suck pretty bad at it.  Any how i figure i'd deal with the long range mech problem by with some LT.

It turned out better than I hoped, but not for the reason you might think.  I parked in the middle of our AA formation and was just taking pot shots at the land mechs.  As you might have figured out a deployed LT with radar on is like an irraistable target for the bombers.  They swooped in to me in a flat trajectory just enough for our AA to focus on one at a time :D  It's probably the first time in 0.3.X that I've finally got to see what coordinated AA could do.  They finally got me on the 3rd run since i jumped out right when the Shiva rammed himself at my LT.

A few hours before this post I was playing on the Marshes map (with the ruined airfield in the middle) and I was on the IS side. I believe we had all 24 people going for this game. The Clans managed to stay ahead of us almost the whole game by a wide margin, but then as we were ranking up we started getting more and more powerful mechs. The Clans were staying with a smattering of direct fire and missile boats. We basically wound up with a few assault mechs guarding like 6+ missile boats, and the rest were recon mechs with NARC launchers. Every now and then the NARC beacon indicator would light up and instantly 8 ArrowIV's launched, along with around 100 LRMs. Almost every time the poor NARCed Clansman was toast. But as the final seconds started ticking down, we were like 6 points away from victory. Everyone started saying GG and such, but then miracle of miracles, on second 7 the narc beacon lit up again and we fired. I saw my Arrows slam down into the mech along with everybody elses and watched it explode, putting us 2 points ahead of the Clans to win the match with 1 second left on the clock. It was awesome.

Had a cool moment yesterday on one of the offical servers (can't remember which one).

I was passive in a Thanatos C engaging a MRM catapult near some fuel tanks on marshes. I had just managed to heavily damage him without getting too mauled myself and then, as with most of my passive engagements, I got snuck up on by a bloody assault mech (probably an AC packing Atlas).

He made short work of my armour and I decided to kick in my MASC (yo) and get the hell out of there weaving between the fuel tanks. Unfortunately the catapult ate a couple of wayward AC20 shells and went critical just as I was tearing past him.

I was just rounding the corner past some hangers as he blew. Due to some freak luck my heavily damaged mech wasn't vapourised, instead my legs blew out and I face planted into a hanger building. I clipped through it so it looked like I literally smashed through the roof.

I can only imagine how awesome that would have looked if the hanger was actually a destructible object.

I hopped out of the wrecked flaming hulk inside the hanger and began to hoof it back to base before the game lagged out...

Thought I'd temper the mad skills stories with a humble fail :D

Oh, I also managed to kill -AAA- in that round, he got bumrushed by two of us and I ended up (accidentally) blowing up my teammate just to land the final shots on him :D, it was worth it to notch up one death against his perfect score :D

In 2.0 a teamate somehow narced a BA and I tbolted him from 1200m. Later that round I had a hard on for Tbolting BA's. I dove on one and he jumped high maxing his jets. On the way down I put 2 passive tbolts in his face.

Not long after the server crashed and I ran into him on Huntress where he was talking with Karuik (I think) and some of the SJs about joining them. Just so you guys know, this is the type of pilot you might be recruiting.

We've had our experience with this guy... and don't worry, he won't be recruited into SJ anytime soon. (MAYBE if he changes his behaviour... but I don't see that happening)

On that matter, I personally DO clench my teeth everytime someone "steals" a kill that I worked hard for... but this is SPARTA!...  eehhh...

What I meant to say; this is indeed a teamgame, and in the heat of battle I can't blame my TEAMMATES for finishing off an ENEMY...
