Just want to give a shout out to Lieutenant Loco, had a great game with him. We were calling out sectors to head off advances, and we seem to have telepathic target selection cause we went after the same guy every time.
We got out numbered early on 4 to 6 i think but our superior tactics let us build around a 6k lead before the teams evened out. From then on it was a slug fest. The other team out started going long range with their tactics and used 1 or 2 harassing mechs to draw us out from behind our cover.
mid to end game was great. We had the east side of the mountain lock down on clearcut and active air support to keep their aeros and vtols in check. I grabbed the LBX20 bushwacker and decided to sweep west as quick recon sweep. This was at night so I had the light amp on, amazing how much that thing doesn't let you see :p. Passed the little lake when i notice an Uller in passive racing in. Thinking he was alone, I radioed in the contact and went in for the kill.
I dumped fire into him but he was nimble and that bushy config had NO range beyond 300m :p Then he surprised me by ramming straight on and turning on his light! The screen whited out for a sec which was enough time for his other passive radar buddies to crest the hill and come at me. Finished off the Uller with a LBX blast turned to confront a Hollander and a Raven.
At this point I'm thinking there's no way i'm gonna last as the radar shows even more red contacts heading towards me. It was a breakout! The majority of my team was on the east side setup in a siege line when I typed in the break out, precious seconds that I couldn't fire back. I'm orange and red every where but my legs. I pick the Holly as my target since it's slower, and let loose with everything. It just soaks up the damage and I can only thankful that it wasn't the Heavy GR or AC20 version. The Raven's PPC is really messing up my aim as it fries up my reticule. Then by chance I let loose with an almost point blank LBX shot that rips through the Holly's cock pit and kills the pilot.
But the damage is done. My back is red and my speed has been cut. The Raven is all yellow but still still moving at full speed chipping away at what was left of my armor. I recently decided to not eject a mech or tank unless I've lost all my weapons, or I'm out of ammo, so I could die a warriors death

. Luckily, instead of shifting to my death camera, Loco sweeps in with his Mauler and blows it to bits. He's back by several mid and light mechs to take on the rest of the break out.
Really really epic save right then and showed how even a pull together group with good communication was way more fun than normal.
