Exactly.

And no, there is no crit hit damage from the back, only MORE damage and LESS Armor.
Same crap - crit hit means more damage / destroying component (depending on the game), here you can do more-or-less the same if you hit Hgauss in the back of light mech.

I have to disagree that the Quad AC/2s on the Mauler are worthless. I kill Atlas' with them all the time, by blowing their heads off with the AC/2s. Their incredible rate of fire allows you to score insane numbers of head hits reliably and quickly, combined with the twin ERLL you can pop off an Atlas' head in a few seconds.

I'm not sure that is a reasonable measurement. The Atlas has a known issue with the head Hitbox being over-sized. Can you ge tthe same performance against mechs with a more reasonable head size? Right now the Atlas is an unpopular mech because how how easy it is to headshot.

IHMO The AC5 and AC2 should be broken into two groups. The AntiAir version, and the AntiTank. Partisan and Huit have the AA version, Mechs have the AT version.

I'd rather see one good version of each of the small ACs, that could simply be done by boosting their anti armor damage (like it was before, but possibly not so much). This would make mechs like the Mauler useful.

Multiple Ammo types is certainly the best long term solution. Especially if the concept is applied to LRM ammo as well. Thunder Munitions anyone?

I was also thinking how the game could really use some AA mechs like the Jaegermech or Rifleman. Something with enough armor to survive direct attacks be aircraft and LRM boats down field.

... pure speculation on my part.

Clan Version of Rifleman and Marauder were my favorite mechs in MW2. I wish devs will return them.
By the way they we both copypased from Maccross. =)
