I'm making basically "planets" and am putting in space-views (as seen from orbit) for the MWLL maps.

I have just completed one for Death Valley, I hope I got the right planet impression...

DEATH VALLEY: ORBIT

DEATH VALLEY: DROPPING

'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

ehhh. looks a bit too uniform, Planets don't really look the same all over.  Vary it up with wide flat areas, canyons, rivers and lakes if there is water, foliage if its habitable, icecaps if the whole place isn't boiling, different colors, etc etc.

You won't just see mountain mountain mountain mountain mountain all over.

Also, when that much curvature is evident in an image of a planet, unless its the size of pluto, or every mountain there is trying to outdo Olympus Mons, you won't see the horizon be all craggley

thanks for the feedback!
I know that planets usually don't look like that, but... yeah. I can make mostly maps with procedural terrain with "hotspots", can someone link to planet description of somewhere (sarna?)?
