1. Bug Fixes
2. Optimizations

The other features mentioned in the list are nice additions or expansions for a finished product, but not for a beta. First things come first, kill the bugs, optimize, finish the WIPs (cockpits, etc).

I cant agree sorry Thoman. Proper betas in software development for the most part are feature complete. Missing game modes and the like (and to a lesser extent contents, particularly when there is not enough content to yet make a whole game) definitely constitute features.

Dont forget bug fixes are an ongoing process, and they're already fixing or attempting to fix known bugs as they go. Apart from that the people doing the maps and modelling are not the people fixing bugs anyway.

As far as optimisation goes - one of early lessons you learn being a computer science student is summed up well in an old quote:

“The First Rule of Program Optimization: Don't do it. The Second Rule of Program Optimization (for experts only!): Don't do it yet.”

Pre-emptive optimisation can be a huge waste of time and even slow down addition of new features.

I don t think agree with your point, but i m openminded about it. I do think if u have a project, you should know, where you start, what you can do and where you wanna go. So, you don t have to ask obvioous questions to your audience during the beta testing, about ovious features "have to be implemented" in order to provide success to your project.

Adding "new game modes", "more mechs and vehicle" and "more Maps" are just obvious questions. it doesn t make sense. It should be on the origiinal project already. You should not  wonder if your audience would preferr this or that, alll of this just should be inside a professional project.

In Beta, you want to be sure the main engine is working, before implementing all of the other cool stuff.  This engiine is not working yet, there are major things to be implemented before providing new features.

I voted for Bug Fixes.

I just think this game so far is in Beta. First of all we need to fix annoying issues before moving forward.

I cannot stand the bug that have me loosing sound effect very often. I have no Idea when i get targeted with missiles because sound is gone, but that is only one of the problems on missing sound. I really cannot stand it. Maybe there is a work around, but I am talking "fiix the bug", i don t have to go through difficult XMLs to have something standard done.

Triple check issues with collisiions. Fix wrong collisions, in base and on maps. It s just frustrating not being able to get out the main door in base and you have to exit through a "trasparent" back wall. It is ridicoulus how sometimes Mech feet get stuck in minor rubble on the ground and you cannot move.

There are other technical bugs and most important FIX A VALID JOY SOLUTION.

I find useless to move to other game features if the quality of game has a poor performance due to unsolved bugs.

I voted Maps.
Never enough.
As for the SLI-Request:
They can't.
You have to get good SLI-Profiles for Crysis from nVidia in the Graphics Drivers.
Nothing else will work.

Milk and Cookies.

How about real different Mechs for IS and Clan?
Correct me on this as I am not up on everything....but don't the two sides have some mechs that the other side does not have?

@Batwing - new content is important too. If they'd put all the game modes and maps in first, we'd still be waiting for the first release. However, if you include the bare minimum, people will get bored easily and leave. I love the AvP games, yet I've stopped playing the new AvP demo already. Why? 1 map. It's boring as hell. Make your beta boring, and you'll lose testers.

The developers are under no incentive or pressure to produce anything based on this poll thread. I'm not trying to tell them what to put in their next update. More than likely, at least 2 things from this poll (bug fixes and optimisations) will be in the next release, regardless of what this poll shows.

This poll was more to get a feeling for what the people testing it wanted in the next update, as an 'extra', to keep them playing. I personally voted new map. A new game mode won't spice up old maps for long. A new map won't spice up old game modes for long. The number of people playing this has already fallen from the high when it was released. How many more will quit out of boredom if you don't put more assets in?

Regardless of where this thread goes, I'm sure the dev's will do us right, they've done a damn fine job of it so far, and I don't see them quitting now.

*corrects you*
Technically, at least later on, the IS has basically access to all Mechs. Either through Battlefield Salvage or Reverse-Engineering.
Clans could do that too, but their Pride tells them not to use anything inferior. Even if there are some superior Mechs in the IS.

The only gamemode at the moment is "FFA Team Deathmatch" - limiting access to equipment would not be constructive, especially considering it all requires extensive testing.

Also - Bugfixes and stability correction is good, yes - but with no new content for extended periods, games slow down and start to stagnate. It's imperative that interest in the mod is maintained, even throughout beta. Once beta is complete, I'm sure that individuals and Leagues will pick up the slack :3

That is pretty much what I wanted to say Alexander, both are good, for different reasons.

Any kind of content would make me happy.

One thing I don't want to happen is to have this mod stuck in 'beta hell' for an eternity.

How can people choose new mechs over new maps? There are 4 maps which if you play a lot get hella repetitive and there are like kazillion mechs/vehicles

There are at least two more maps available now... but apparently no one wants to host them.  What I want most from the next update is stickied thread for user maps. ;)

I voted for more mechs, since I think the existing game modes are fine, just in need of tweaks... and in my perfect world they would never add a mechlab.  I think a mechlab means the end of variety, and the beginning of everyone using the same two or three weapons.  I think a mechlab does far more harm to the game than third person view ever could.  If you played mech 2, 3 or 4.  You know that the game devolves in to the flavor of the month configs.  Given enough time, people will find the best bang for their buck and use nothing else.

edit: I remembered one thing I would like to see ASAP... the same throttle options for mechs that vehicles have.  Some people may like the ramping throttle the way it is, I would prefer the default throttle style of vehicles when I pilot a mech.
