well, people don't know how to play TOS.... or they are simply too lazy for that.
#
Redvan has a point, but it happens basically in all games - the thing is that in other games there is enough players online to replace the quitters and sooner or later everything goes back to normal. With MWLL you have... let's say... 2 hosts nearly-full of players, when a guy leaves - there's noone to replace him. Or the one joining is as same newbie as the one who quit...

So it's more a matter of time than fixing anything with game.

i gladly switch teams if the player numbers are unbalanced.  but if i'm playing well and helping my team win, and the other team is playing like retards and getting their ass kicked, i'm not gonna penalize myself for being successful in a match by moving myself to the losing team.

you can't expect people who have worked to put their team int he lead to just throw it all out the window and change teams.

(snip)
The TLL guys also all hang out in their own private teamspeak channel, which defeats the entire point of teamspeak completely... FYI guys, that doesn't help anyone who actually wants to use teamspeak :D

Just because it's public doesn't mean that we also hang out there all the time. (snip)

Temphage and (TLL)Seraph seem to be confusing different Teamspeak (TS3) servers.

TLL has 3 Game servers (that i know of)
TLL has a private TS3 server/channel
TLL has a public TS3 server/channel

Over the last few weeks I join the public TLL TS3 server, and routinely find 3-10 players. We do prefer to all be on the same team, but none of us deliberatly have joined a team that was already stacked. (We join the smaller team, and keep checking to see if the player count balances out so we can switch to join our friends)
Deforesting clearcut since Dec 26 2009.

i get on there often too, many a time we'll have people on opposite teams, but like mav said, people like to play with their friends, cant penalize them for that either.

Something I'm wondering about is the "team locked" aspect.  Sometimes when I try to join a team, it'll say "team locked: too many players".  Of course, I'm not purposely trying to join the team with most players, i just sometimes accidentally click the wrong button.  Is there a way to narrow the difference between # players on each side?  Usually I dont see a team "locked" even when that team already has 3 more players than the other team.  It's nice to keep it a little open, so when people want to play with their friends they can get on the same team, but I've seen way unbalanced teams with the large team not being locked.

After joining servers this week Ive noticed many clans stacking on public. Yes I know they can if they want to, its a public server but it just ruins public games. I'm gonna go ahead and name and shame the clans Ive seen that stack and more importantly on the team that already has more players. This week its mainly RDL. I'm sure there are others but i can't remember them ATM I'm still having a bout of rage.

IMO clans doing this will damage the community and public play come on guys play nice on public. Go buy your own server if you want to stack. I'm sure people build up and idea of what your clan is like based on public servers if they aren't active on the boards. When I see a clan evening the teams up and encouraging teamplay on a public it makes the game 100 times better

I urge people to do the same as myself maybe we'll see some change their ways on public servers.

We aren't counting as three clan people on the same team as stacking are we? I rarely see that many at once, much less a half team or more.

When I've been playing and someone screams "TEAMS!" it usually balances pretty fast. I dunno, from what I've seen it's fairly well self-policed.

I also agree it has to do with playstyle. The first 30 minutes or so when I'm playing around with the light and medium 'mechs, my kd ratio gets pretty high because I will take the time to go back and repair. Once I break into the Mad Cat, I will die most of the time without repairing once, and my kd suffers.

Once, I was pretty happy with a score of 13-0, not so much b/c I had a great kd ratio, but because I had managed to make that many kills with Raven and a Puma without dying(I lost 2 Ravens and ran back to base to buy a Puma). One of the most exciting things for me in this game is to do hit and runs on vulnerable enemies. I measure my playing skill on how long I can get away with this without dying. It gets REALLY interesting when the heavy 'mechs start rolling out.

My strategy is I am always the Clan force. So, if you wish to fight against me, go IS, if not. Go Clan.

If the guys on the TLL public TS are ruining your game I have a suggestion. Joint the TLL public TS and say " who wants to help me on the other team"? You will have somebody switch teams and work with you. For many of us playing the "lone wolf" sucks. I don't care how bad the odds are against me or what team I am on. I just want atleast one person on comms to work with.

I know what it's like to have my brother sitting right next to me playing MWLL. So when I have to play alone it really bites. One night though, I managed to pull some people from my steam friends list to form an actual working lance and it was a blast.

MWLL rewards teamwork more than anything else, so it is still surprising to me when I see people wondering around doing their own thing. The teams can be stacked, but the team with more organization will come out on top.

Personally if the other team is getting battered/camped/outnumbered, I'll be the first to switch to them.

I find nothing more enjoying than breaking a camp, and turning a 50k vs 500k game around to a win because the attacking side are stupid and arrogant enough to walk single file into my base in Assault mechs, for my team to end up winning 650k vs 500k.

My sentiments exactly. I love being on the losing team and trying to turn it into a win.

What I've seen somewhat often is this: One team is winning by a lot, and has 2+ more players than the losing team. A scrub from the losing team will switch to the already-outnumbering-and-winning team to make things even more lopsided. Super, SUPER lame.

On that note about the TLL servers, I'd like to thank the TLL guys for playing nice. I often see them (in their own servers) splitting their numbers up as evenly as possible so that it doesn't end up lop-sided. I respect that. Kudos to you guys.
