Awesome news for our animators! Dunno if ET will look into it since he's heading into Law, but Hacker should definitely check this out.

Yea and Bethesda needs a level designer.  Damnit! I'm a few years behind the curve.  Maybe they will still be looking for one when I'm done with my bachlors of science in game art and design?  Theres a few companies I would love to work for- Massive, Epic, Relic, THQ, and Bethsoft.  Oh yea, and Bioware I guess :P

Obviously U.S based studios, I'm not moving to Germany.  Though I would consider Canada and maybe the U.K

+Level Designer!

Real animation is a very hard core thing to do. I heard a lecture about it over the weekend from a industry pro. To be a real animator, you basicaly have to know everything about anatomy, the skeletal structure and art combined. Computers might make it alot easyer but if you dont have all of that knoldge your alwasy going to be a half baked tool. I also dont see how an animation director could ever have a job without a through knoldge of art and anatomy.

I'd check that out if I wasn't going to university - if H4cker wants some help I'm sure we'd all be willing to chip in some models/rigging..

I know of some people working at crysis headquarters doing the hard work, and Im not sure you would find their work that pleasant because the attitude of "manager guys" who are sticking to VTOL aircraft and arcade elements. Crysis going to be an arcade fun mate, and I only HOPE that you can exctract / harvest the usable parts of the engine, the current arcade game mechanics is a big "NOOOO..!" on my behalf... Anyways, if you can make this up& running I see a clear chance that someone going to glue the tyranid looking xenomorphs with the power armor guys you pull out - together - if you know what I mean  :D
~ Not my last post, tho want to ask - do you know an article about crysis multithreading stuff perhaps?

Crysis will be distributed on DVD and via digita download, no fabric will be included with the package.

hmm I dunno what for you write about distribution, I tought about multicore CPU support. Likewise mr. Carmack wrote in one of his keynotes, that such a nice thing it would be , saying to the audio guy... hey, you dont have to live in the 2-3% cpu usage any more ... or what , lolz ... Is there OpenAL in crysis?
