Now we've chatted our sweet bums off about the Mechs. But what about vehicles?

Tell the world of MW:LL about your favorite. Mine is the Mars Assault Tank. A true missile monster if ever there was one.

Well I saw some concept art/Texturing in the Media Section of a vehicle called the Odin, it looks awesome, it's a Clan vehicle and I hope it will have a Heavy Gauss.

Problem with the Mars is that it has a LOT of non-turret mounted weapons.

Plus more than a few weapons facing to the sides.

Unless MWLL gets multiple crewmen vehicles, it would be hard to faithfully implement the crawling fortress (with paper thin armor!).

I'd favour the Heimdall as a Clan Assault tank - most of the weapons are turret mounted (and some liberty (canonwise) can be taken with the non-turret guns), plus it is the most heavily armoured vehicle in CBT!
The thing is more likely to die from critical hits than armor penetration and destroyed internal structure!

Edit: I really would like to see the Hachiman Fire Support Tank though, I love that thing in CBT.

The Chevalier looks like my kind of ride, I like the light-weight stuff, and this one has not only a large laser on it, but it's ER too.

Oh and the SRMs are great for short range too.

After reading (only) 6 of the novels, I'm going to cast my vote in with the Burke, it shows up a lot in the novels, and I'm pretty sure one of the pre-release demo videos showed someone in a Burke attacking a light mech.

There are so many cool vehicles, it is hard to choose!

I definitely would like to see a mobile-HQ and a repair truck/track... They were staples in all the mech games and could use their equivalent here.

Of course, you would need a good reason to want to be the person purchasing them and operating them... Points for repairing damaged vehicles. And could there would need to be a fun mechanic involved with them, like a repair minigame targeting each part or having the mobile field truck offer airstrikes or coordination of orders... Something.

Or what about a mobile air support vehicle, to help with tagging and control of airstrikes like in the Mechcommander gold game?

The new configuration eats mechs alive.
though the main guns are "fixed" to the front

I think that would do for now, a few others I would not mind seeing have been suggested by others as well.

We already have such thing. It's called Raven.

Plenty of VTOL infantry transports in CBT - it is one of few rolls they are useful for.

MWLL already has the Karnov and Anhur VTOL transports in the unit list, so the Kestral is kinda unnecessary, although I do agree it looks far better.

Fluff wise, the Kestral has been described as more a special operations unit transport than a hot battlefield 'dump and run' VTOL.


Someone link various mobile artillery vehicles now! If some sort of tube artillery is ever added, I'd like to see these. Not many designs exist, but they would be fun for suppressive area artillery fire!



And lets no forget the one vehicle that will bring groans of agony from nearly every player: the LRM CARRIER!

60 tons, paper thin armor, 3 LRM-20 with 4 tons of ammo. Dirt cheap.


or the slightly more expensive HEAVY LRM CARRIER!

Oh my, tube artillery! I can already hear in my head: "Enemy LRM boats are pinning us down. Fire support, requesting barrage at C5. Bring them hell, guys!"
