i've narc'd an aero before   8)...  sadly i dont think my tbolts would guide to it very well :(

Yes, you can NARC battle armors, and you can send 80 LRM down on their position with great amusement.

this is balanced on the Catapult by it having only standard optics

wellllll....  get a narc out and basically all boaters can just sit behind their walls of their base and just keep launching and launching and launching...  pretty ghey imo.

And in my experience the only way to get a NARC to stick is if the target I'm putting it on is standing still itself.  I wonder what they are doing to be standing still?

Try NARC'ing a moving target sometime and let me know how it works out.  Short of coming in very low directly in front of (high unadvised) or directly behind (again, not wise) it's near impossible to get a NARC stuck on something that is moving.

Seriously?

NARCing aeros have point when you want to lure some mssiles from friendly LRM campers. Works very rarely, but still does.

Quote
NARC must be fired at slow/stationary targets within 1000meter
or a target moving towards/away from you. They rarely spot the missile so you have 99% hit rate. :)

we flew attack runs for hours on end with a wing of three tbolt jets and even when we chose a slow assault mech target we mostly had to use at least one of our backup narcs to hit him. a couple of times even all three pilots would fail to hit depending on which attack vector we had relative to his movement. so if your not a pilot with the suicidal tendency to fly low or a mech pilot that has a liking to stand in front of assault class mechs you really have a lot less than 99%, i would even say near to impossible chance to hit even a slow moving target.

and btw when you are in front/behind them to fire it they spot it easily. even more so because you have to go active.

spot you - yes, spot the missile to avoid it - not always. :)

And what I was talking about with 99% accuracy is low-level approach to target moving towards/against you, not random vectors :) ;)
