BA motorcycles
« on: February 24, 2010, 09:00:24 AM »
I don't know if there are motorcycles in the battletech universe, but I would like to see some for BAs. Just a cheap vehicle that gets them where they need to go very fast. Could also let them fire whatever weapons the BA carries but in a foreward arc.

They do not exist, and why would we want them?  ??? BA too cool to ride to school  ;)

We've got APCs and aerial transports on the way that also work as BA spawn points, so never fear, we'll be able to get into the fight quick enough :)

Mech Pilot: "I'll be stomping out, you walking/jumping to the fight?"
BA: "Nope, I'll take my sweet Chopper for a ride, cruise around a bit, then pop a cap in the back of that Atlas over there"

Um... Yeah... Sorry, but one of the stupidest ideas I have seen so far...

The cheap vehicle to get BA where they need to go fast will be The Claw.  It's so cheap, it's free.

@Askis: Off-topic now, but users like you really annoy the crap out of me! Hey, its just an >>> idea <<<!
Ok, I don't like it too and its much to far away from the BTU and doesn't fit into the game IMO.

Why keep a handful users blaming and insulting other users in this community?!? Aren't you adult enough to find the proper words so you stay in your sandbox language? Or is it just fun for you to produce yourself in the public?!?

Edit: Just struggled over this:

For this exact reason I am going to take a leave of absence from the forums. The overflow of ignorant and/or disrespectful users may force me to damage my reputation through actions I will regret in the future. If at all you may see me in Toast from time to time.

Sorry for the off topic contents of this post, and good day.

You're just saying that because you have poo poo breath.

Lol, there is no need to be offended over forum posts, although there is a high grade of immaturity, the fact that it is text based makes it quite easy to ignore. I would sooner see threads look like a New Jersey elementary playground rather than overcensoring people. All in all the only person you can every truly control is yourself, and by creating a more positive example can you make others copy. You cannot force anyone... you know that pretty much goes for anything in life.

@MatthewPryde: Yes, you're right. And I blamed myself a bit. But it really annoys me that some users here tend to think that their opinion is an unwirtten law, all other opinions are not worth to read and blame the posters for their involvement. IMO thats not the way a community should work.
So many good posts/ideas get lost because of these kind of 'problems'.

But I agree I should calm down before posting something...

back on topic: Freakazoid, there was an idea of adding fast, quad battlearmors - perhaps not motorcycles, but plays the same role - let BA get on the battlefield quickly + fire the weapons.

There were no motorcycles in BT, but fast battlearmors could be great :) I poked something about VTOL BAs as an alternative, although their poor weaponry would make them useless :/

anyway, read the topic :)

Thats not the whole story. There are motorycycles in BTU, even as combat units equiped with weapons.

But they are driven by usual soldiers, a BA could never steer one.

Or is a clumsy BA able to steer a mech?!?  ;D (sorry, just kidding. And -NO- I don't want to start again the old discussion  :-X

Good to see someone acknowledges motorbike in Battletech Universe. 8)
The picture for mechanized Infantry in Battletech Compendium (1640) is a guy on a motorbike.

I would love to see BA on bikes but I can't see it happening :-[

There are motorycycles in BTU ... But they are driven by usual soldiers, a BA could never steer one.

Well, we have fully kitted out BAs with ManPack PPCs piloting mechs, so what the hell, we may as well have BAs on motorbikes, skateboards and Segways :D

Having said that, I dislike this idea soooooo much it almost made me be rude to the poster ;)   (just kidding)
