Hey everyone, just finished up mapping my controls out to my Dual Action using JoyToKey and the results are pretty good....
So I thought I'd share my cfg file for joytokey for anyone else who wants it.
First I removed any mapped joy controls in my actionmaps.xml, found the control for "CenterTorso" and changed it to lctrl (both profile and default).
You only crouch when you are stopped, and your legs will only center to torso while moving, so why not just overlap?
Here's the control scheme in my cfg file. You are of course free to change whatever once you get it into JoyToKey, but this works pretty solidly for me so far.
Note: Button 7 is labeled MOD for modifier, and basically works like a "shift" key to access a 2nd control set.
The actions in brackets are accessed by this.
Right Stick-
X - Torso Twist [1/2 sensitivity]
Y - Pitch [1/2 sensitivity]
Click - Zoom [Target under Reticule]
Left Stick-
X - Turn
Y - Throttle
Click - Boost [Center to Torso]
Buttons-
1 - Nearest Enemy [Nearest Friendly]
2 - Jump Jets [Enter key]
3 - Next Enemy [Next Friendly]
4 - Flush Coolant [Buy Menu]
5(L1) - Fire Group 3 [Left Click]
6(R1) - Fire Group 1 [Fire Group 4]
7(L2) - MOD
8(R2) - Fire Group 2 [Fire Group 5]
9(Select) - Fire Mode [Map]
10(Start) - Use [Manual Shutdown]
D-Pad-
Up - Lights [Up Arrow]
Down - Brake [Down Arrow]
Left - Night Vision [Left Arrow]
Right - Radar Mode [Right Arrow]
The missing controls are autobuy, scoreboard, share C-Bills, override, fire group 6, and previous enemy/friendly.
Get the .cfg here:
http://www.filedropper.com/mwllOpen it with JoyToKey, make sure in the "Others" menu you have number of joystick to at least 2, check "Uses Axes other than X and Y." and "Use POV switches"
My config is set up inverted, if you want normal, flip the controls on Axis 6.
If you want to take away the 1/2 sensitivity, go to Joystick 2 and clear the settings for Axis 3 and 6.
Remember to set a decent amount of dead zone (10% on mine) so that you don't accidentally turn when you adjust throttle and vice versa. It's still wonky for BA but I just hit the analog mode button on the gamepad and switch WASD to the D-pad.
Tweak it to your liking, if you find something that works better for you, share it!
Credit to Haunted for his JoytoKey post that got me started on this.
