Negative - your dad would probably hate the new game too if he's a big fan of the original title. Tell him it's TA for retards.

Steam is a great platform, I don't understand what he hates about it. It offers good multiplayer support, solid measures against piracy, and so long as you have your account username and password you can access and relatively quickly download any of the games you've purchased. I've always been a big fan of steam - sure, the early going was pretty rough and there were a lot of issues, but it's evolved into a great content delivery platform.

Hate is prolly too strong of a word, but he just doesnt trust things like that. He seems them as extra baggage. He played TA, and only TA, for like 5 years straight. Its all he plays. For him, its "I dont want to buy anything else from you! Just gimme my game and go away." Hes not a normal gamer.

I was a little disappointed by the game as a whole.

They dumbed-down practically everything, but the gameplay is much more action and quite a bit faster, so it's still fun to play.  I still miss the original though *digs through piles of stuff for cd*

The story is good, but the way it's presented is a bit meh.

Supcom 2 misses all the great things of SupCom 1 :(
It's sad that they removed all those great things
I won't buy it.

*still digging through shelves and drawers*

I swear to god I have it somewhere.

Do they offer a digital download anywhere where I can just buy it, as I doubt I'll find it in stores?

Thanks Kit, but most of those are for SupCom 2, which I already bought.

I did find a few other sites, but the average price is like $20.  Ebay, AWAY!

Have you ever played other actual people?  What faction do you prefer?

Also, bought a copy for 5 bucks.  Now just have to wait for it to ship to Hawaii  :(

fapp YEAH MONKEYLORDS.
BEAM LASERAN
ENERGY USAN
SLOW MOVAN

Walking destroyers are pretty sweet too.  The only thing I outright liked in SupCom 2 is that the walking ability applies to all your ships, and you can research to upgrade land speed, making them move as fast on land as they do on water.  Seeing destroyers and battleships come sprinting out of the water while escorting carriers is hilarious.

Also, the rapid-fire Cybran experimental artillery in SupCom 1 is beast (forgot what it was called).

UEF  ;D

Fatboys and Infinite Range Artillery, eh?  Gotta watch out for you....
