That said, I do hope that some community mappers will take aerospace and VTOL inclusion into consideration.

I didn't leave them off because I hate them... although I do pretty much hate them. :P  I can't fly one or shoot one down, so I do prefer matches where no one is using them, or where they aren't an option.  I plan to on my next map.  The reason I didn't put them on either of my previous maps is because they are too small.  The playable area is big, but the mission boundaries go all the way to the edges.  It looks pretty bad if you get high up in the air and see all the empty gray space surrounding the map.

I want to do a lunacy type map...  that might be fun with aerospace.  It should completely change the tactics people used on the old map.  Are you guys already working on a lunacy remake?

Well it would be cool but...... I'm having alot of trouble with the devs (and map creators >.> ) over the Dropship idea. Devs don't want to talk about Dropships, and the Map creators just shrug their shoulders and go back to their own ideas. A space map is never going to hapen. And if a map creator tries, it will turn out like Halo 1. A sad abomination that insults the very idea of Mechwarrior. BattleTech at that!

The dropships in the editor are clearly work in progress, and pretty far along.  When they get them ready, I'll use them in maps.... until then, we wait. :)
