64bit does not start
« on: February 27, 2010, 08:20:54 PM »
Hey everyone, just installed Crysis and MWLL mod as per recommendation of a friend of mine.

System specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
RAM: 8GB
Video: Nvidia 8800GT (just checked I have latest driver)

Installed patch 1.2
Installed latest MWLL beta.

My problem is: 64bit version of neither Crysis or MWLL starts for me.
When I try to launch 64 bit. The screen turns black as if the game is just about to start. Then after a few seconds, I get a pop up window with error:

Crysis has stopped working
Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

and then I get 2 choice to check online, or to close the program

Below is the details box:

You need to make sure you are running it as admin, and make sure the MWLL folder isn't restricted in it's folder options.

also u might want to install crysis and MWLL somewhere else than in the "official" Program Files folder.
Put it in C:\Games\Crysis or so or even better on another partition :)

I had the same problem for 32 bit version ( i got a different error for he 64bit version), it turned out that my profiles had become corrupt somehow and the solution was to delete them in the my documents/my games/crysis folder.

I'm having the exact same problem and can confirm that none of those solutions work. I'm running the program as admin, with full permissions for all users on the folder. I am also using win7 ultimate x64.
There was no problem with crysis64 before the 0.2.0 patch.

Same Here, running as admin, no restrictions, deleted all the config files.  I just get black screen

One thing I am not doing is running it in a separate folder..  When I initially installed crysis on a folder other than C:program file/blah/blah/blah I could not patch the sucker.  Had to be installed on c to patch.  Lots of people were having that problem.

I am, yes. As said before, pre MWLL 0.2.0, there were no problems

edit: - system specs:

Win7 ultimate 64bit
intel Core 2 duo e6400
6 gb ddr2
NVidia 9600GT
sound - usb logitech G35 surround sound headphones (have their own sound-card on board) - have tried with  soundblaster audigy 7.1 also, with no difference to the result
drivers are all up to date and windows has all updates.

I have a similar issue PLUS another one.
I just installed Crysis (from Direct2Drive..hey..there was a sale going on) on Windows 7 for the first time.  I don't even see an option to run it in 64 bit.  Anywho..right after installing it I installed this mod.  While I also have the problem of the 64bit version of the mod being inaccessible I also have the problem that Crysis nor the mod will let me select a widescreen resolution (I use 1680x1050).  By that I mean it's not even in the list.
Also..last time I started the mod up I had some kind of mouse detection problem...as in I had to move the mouse to the far right of the screen in order for the buttons on the far left to light up and be usable.

1.1.1.6156

In order to narrow this down slightly, I can say for certain that on launch of the 64 bit client, shaders folder is created (if previously deleted), so the error is occurring slightly after that i assume.

My exact error log is:

Well that seems to be the problem..both you and I have the wrong version.
Wow..I feel like a moron now, lol.

Will normal patches work on a D2D installed game?

1.1.1.656 actually *is* 1.2.1, which is a bit confusing, so that's not the issue :) 1.2.1 is the patch number, 1.1.6156 is the game version.

Well hell...that would explain why I'm getting an error when I try to install 1.2. :o

on the D2D version check in the directory where you installed crysis and check to see if there is a Bin64 folder and that it's not empty.  Steam users didn't get access to the 64bit version so i'm wondering if this is the same case.
