I know this is an old topic, but did the video of this ever get posted up? I'm a struggling map maker and more MWLL map creation content, tips, and discussion as opposed to watching plain crysis map making and tips video's would be appreciated.

I tried watching this the other day, pretty sure I was using the 1.0.5 VLC (says it's the latest version) and I was getting the 2min in blackscreen. I'll try checking for an update on the webpage, and fiddling with aspect ratios, as I'd like to see this, even if I never make a map (curse you Dark Radiant!)

Attached my DxDiag below, hope it proves of use to you because I couldn't find any reason why it crashes with no errors.

Have you ever successfully created a new map with this computer?

Can you open existing Crytek Crysis maps in SB2?

Yes, on a previous install of Windows XP with Service Pack 3. All my drivers are up to date except my graphics driver from NVidia, it's not up to date but I am using a recent patch for it. I doubt that's the problem since I've opened the Editor in the past. Whenever I try to open or create a new map file it automatically CTD's without even showing the windows for viewing the map. I've added -mwll to the shortcut for Editor and -dx9 to try and solve the problem, didn't work. I'm doubting something is corrupt from installation since I'd probably get an error from that. Anyways, thanks. :)

If your intent is to create a level for MWLL, you should be using either Vista or Win 7 64 bit. The 32 bit operating systems do not cut it for creating the large maps used by MWLL. Also you should have at least 4 GB of main memory and it would be nice if you had at least 1 GB of GPU memory.

Don't worry about my system requirements, I've created the equivalent of a map the size of Krakatoa of Crysis for use between people I know. My only problem now is my editor still won't start. ;)

Actualy my 32 bit xp rig is what i use with a slightly OCed amd dual core (gotta double check if its athalon). I got 4 gigs of g skill ram at 1066 on a gigabyte board( im cuting out a gig here due to 32 bit im aware). Also im runing only the onboard ati 4200 hd...yes i know i need a 64 bit sys and all that to realy apreciate crysis but for now it works. I intend after geting a new car to go ahead and get a new mobo cpu and video card giveing my old one to my gf.

EDIT: got home ran cpu-z just to double check everything and heres what i got.

athalon II x2 240 OCed to 3.1 ghz
2x2 gig g skill chips dual channel  5 5 5 15
ati radeon hd 4200 700mb mem

also when i first got this rig and was OCingi did several stability tests only a few failing once i got my currentsettings setup before that i failed a bunch took a bit of tweaking but there ya go
