You can keep your MRM's I'll take ATM's with interchange able ammo. I see your MRM's and raise you ATM HE's.
;D And let's make the ATM Vulture 8)

MRMs are great... only their spread sometimes is annoying - when you try to hit something on longer distance. But other than that - amazing weapons, love them! :D Would swap each SRM launcher I have with MRMs anytime!

i only wish that mrms didn't obscure my vision every time i fire them.  I love how they hit and how they fly, just wish that after i fired them i could still see without 20 bright showy contrails all over the screen

I understand your point but I mean ho ever developed it did some astounding work. I love how they look and handle, probably the best feeling rockets ever implemented in a MW game. So I wouldn't like to see them take away my precious eyecandy. :D

Forgive me for asking what might be a stupid question, but since my Mechwarrior / Battletech experience predates MRMs, could somebody answer me this: why do MRMs explode right at the limit of their official range, instead of simply going dumbfire and extending a bit past their range like LRMs?  Why do they have guidance at all when, from what I *have* read, they're meant to be a completely dumbfire rocket system?  I find them to be *less* useful with the reticle-tracking behavior because I can't fire off a volley and then maneuver, like I would be able to do with normal ballistic weapons.

Sleet my guess it to keep people from using them to snipe people off at long ranges (850-1000m away) since there is no locking issues to worry about ( or shouldn't be) and the fact that they are guided to the center of your crosshairs.

i think MRMs would be more useful if their velocity was sped up, not by alot, but enough to make them slightly more effective at their max range. I'm gonna do some more tests with them soon, but in my experience so far its pretty useless to use them above 300m unless the target is large and very slow, preferably immobile. But before i can take an official stance on that, i need to use them more, i havent gotten a lot of use out of them yet.

I found them to be better are midrange tbh. Once they get past about the 250m mark they get really tightly clustered and become quite the mech shredder.

MRMs are a perfect weapon when something is rushing at you since everything is straight line.  I'm happy with the speed since it's very easy to predict where a heavy/assault mech is going to move.  Light and meds not so much as their speed is their advantage.

Yea, I thought the same at the beginning - but now when learn a bit on how to use them... guide is really helpful on mid-range. That's what makes the difference between them and SRMs. Otherwise we would have just alternative SRMs.... what isn't very good either.
Oh, and they explode after reaching max range cause that's what all the missiles here do ;) LRMs also explode after reaching max range - only what you see in game is the 'lock on range' not actual max-range.

One Warhammer variant is equipped with a LRM-20.

You can guide the MRM with your crosshair, like SRM with no lock. With a bit practise (one salvo should be enough practise...) its not such a big deal to achieve hits with it.

BTW: I miss a Bushwacker with a MRM-40 mounted on the left arm.
::) And i would give my first-born for a Thanatos A with MRM instead of SRM...

EDIT: And please no MRMs at all for the Clan-scum. They don't like the whole idea of MRM (referring to the BTU) and they do not deserve them in MWLL.  :P
(Hey, everywhere I only find pro-clan-posts. And who takes care of your origins, the Inner Sphere?!? IS is the only right choice! Hah! Clanners are traitors with a twisted mind! -except the Novas-)

You have to choose the warhead type when you buy the ammo and place the salvos into the machine. Not switch it whenever you feel like it:)

And HE-s may have splash damage too :D

Thats fine if people are in a brawling mood great I'll take HE's if its mid range or a combination of long and short I'll pop in the M's and if its long range with ARROW and ELRM boaters I'll let them choke on E's.
