Well maybe I exaggerated a bit. However, I think I made clear that I did not want to give offence, and that I understand that and why many ppl do not like 3rd - but then again, I also understand why many others enjoy 3rd, and I myself like and play both views.

Now, this an old discussion, which wont end in the near future, and which I had too often both with 3rd and 1st players. Still, what is the big issue with generally allowing third as an option that can be disabled by means of server settings? If you dont like 3rd, disable it on your servers and dont join 3rd servers. If you dont like 1st, go play on 3rd servers. If you like both, welcome to the club. If that such an option cant be implemented in Crysis, ok, then of course better only 1st than only 3rd.

But didnt Mercs and Veng prove that are many out there who simply enjoy 3rd?

I think those two only proved that 3rd person was more exploitable than 1st.  Enjoyment was likely less of a factor than you might think.

This. Too many players would line up the reticle from behind the hill so it turned red. Once it was red they would discharge their weapons. Yes it looked like it impacted a solid object, but the target still took Full damage. The target could not return fire through the same object. Thus an exploit.

Not sure if Crysis suffers the same thing. But it really doesn't matter. If the Devs wanted 3rd person, they would have said they wanted it. They do not, they've stated they will not add it. Remember folks, these guys aren't making money off of us, we're not customers. We don't get what we always want. They want to make it fun for us, but at the same time its their piece of art.

Now will you all please poke your heads over the hill so I can shoot at it.

The way it is now sucks though. Your cross hair follows the 3rd person view which enables you to shoot directly behind you. Yesterday I was running back to base for some repairs and was messing around with the 3rd person view. I fired a volley of missiles while looking at the front of my mech and the missiles fired from out of my back. This enables people to fire their guns at pursuing people.

I have not read the entire thread so sorry if this has been said already.
Happened to me once startled the heck 0out of me seeing a missle salvo come out of my targets arse O_O

Yea, they could.

Not if the reticule was green from pointing at the object in question.

But the arguement is pointless, 3rd person is going to get removed in the next update. The users of it will have to enjoy it now, because after that its back to MW4. They can exploit all they want there.

That's why you didn't point it at any "object" you pointed it at the mech that was shooting you. Seems like you're going off what you've heard rather than from experience. This bug was patched a decade ago, not sure why you mentioned it anyway.

A dev here mentioned it. I reinforced it. Tell him he's wrong, not me.

Good luck with that.  ;D

Let this discussion die please.

It's was an accident it was even included in this patch.  The devs are taking it out.  End of story.

There will be no 3rd Person view in the future releases!

The 3rd Person view is for Debugging and Testing purpose only, hence the placement of the camera on the models.

Use of 3rd Person view will be considered an exploit on some servers that it is not an intended game mechanic!

I used to play 3rd person all the time in MW4, although it basically is exploiting and taking away the sim feel. As much as I do like watching my mech blow things up, I much prefer being immersed in a cockpit with lots of awesome buttons!

In a groundbreaking new feature, MWLL will include a new gametype: MechRockerBandHeroKersplosion.  Pilots will smash the throttle to classic 80's speed metal using custom ethernet plugin to real guitars.  PPC's will be triggered by power chords, and LRM ammo is selected by playing one of 17 distinctive hammer-on rifts.  Get a teammate elemental to hop up on your mech's shoulder and throw up the horns, and with a hot duel you can deflect enemy fire BY THE POWER OF YOUR ROCK!

That's great. Nothing I wrote had anything to do with LL though.

The weapons would impact the obstruction, but the target would still take damage (and just damage, no rockback or anything that let you know you just got hit).

I went back a few pages to see what you were talking about...couldn't find any dev saying things like what you were saying. Anyway you were wrong about the underlined part too. Rumors are sort of amusing.

Doesn't matter.  What I said wasn't addressed to you in particular, it was addressed to any person who would want to jump into this thread to argue a point that has "nothing...to do with LL".  If you want to go discuss cheating in MW4, go start a thread for it in Other Games or somewhere; don't keep bumping a dead thread with off-topic posts.

Again (this time fix'd for accuracy):
