I personally cannot stand DX10. I got a computer that can run it and run it well but I still prefer the crispness and stability of DX9. I laugh that they just hurried to DX11 without fixing 10 though.

DX11 was the fix for DX10.

So I guess it's just "sucks to be you" for all the DX10 games

Unless like me you have a 5970. Then it doesn't make much difference :D And DX9 runs like crap in crysis for me. It was clearcut but omg it was terrible.

Can't wait for DX11 games. Not that i'll be able to run them properly lol.

When I played on DX10 servers after the mod first released, I experienced a noticeable graphic enhancement. The textures appeared to be more crisp and the rockets' smoke trails were certainly more realistic. There is more to DX10 than motion blur, but I'm not sure if DX9 can do volumetric clouds or other enhancements like that. I guess if the devs say they're the same, then who am I to argue... But I'm not sure how to account for the better visuals. There just isn't much population on the servers so I play on DX9 servers.

The servers DX10 setting has no impact on the client side. If you run DX10 on your end for both DX9 or DX10 servers you always get that effect.

I think it has a impact on crashes I crash much less in Dx10 maybe once every 2-3 games but whit Dx9 it's like 3-4 crashes per game. Graphically it seems really similar

Exactly. On top of that, the improvements that "very high" (DX10-only) sees have nothing to do with DX10! See here:

Cuban-Ultima-Doom-Sword's [CCC] 1.31 is the 3rd party crysis optimizer that gives you nearly all of the dx10 features on dx9 cards. I even found using the program on DirectX 10 sped things up quite a bit.

CCC is just awesome, not only did the game look better (softer shadows, cleaner look to textures) but I did get an improvement in FPS in regular Crysis.

If this carries over into MWLL I will be one happy panda.

edit: I am one happy panda, the game looks even better and I have +10 FPS over what I had before. The people who worked on the CCC optimization deserve a huge thanks!

Except Win 7 doesn't run like crap, and thus the doesn't run worse like vista. And all that says is, if you ''hack'' crysis you can run DX10 effects in DX9 and with slightly lower FPS. Not to mention you do not get all the bells and whistles of DX10.

Dx10 is still better. Using CCC and DX10 might even be better, but I have yet to try. But without a doubt DX10 looks better than DX9, doesn't matter what the mods say, I'm not blind!

Well, that's the point. There are no bells or whistles :/

There is, DX10 looks better than DX9 in MWLL. I've tried. DX9 just doesn't look as good.
