ok some/not all bases have turrets

i think to help stop spawn camping and assist defenders in a fair fight,

bases need more electronic warfare

angel ecm for each turret, BAP,C3 all that crap, thus veiling and defending the people in side

maybe these could be lodged in a seperate radar dome(destroyable)

maybe this could be incorperated into some upgrade system that the base defences get upgraded with every 100k points tear that the team passes

0-100-200-300k 4 tears

i can just trow out some random ideas to help flush out the defencive tears

ams,
 coolant hoses (so defenders dont overheat),
upgraded laser beams to higher levels,
 double heatsyncs( 25% extra fire rate
srm's 6'a-ssrm's 6's- dual ssrms 6's
narc's

and maybe small machine gun turrets inside hanagers to stop ba's camping inside


as stated above having high point requirements as the price for added tears will stop people base camping on small lo-player servers, but in a larger game will stop base raping , any other suggestions, (suggestions other then turrets should have every gun in the game are encouraged ..im looking for more of a utility aspect.
I agree that money doesn't bring happiness, all I ask is a chance to prove it.

aside from the fact that most of these encourage base camping (angel ecm for each turret especially) it'd be good to have some buy-able bonuses for turrets - like swapping missiles with UAC20 for example to get better defense against assaults. Or upgraded armor. Or other... it should be as expensive as regular mechs, but give bases bit more chances to defend themselves (especially on Marshes where lack of defenses makes it damn difficult to defend against base raping).

Something like this might be a good idea when we have new game modes featuring capturable bases.
When you have just captured it it is totally barren, but you can upgrade it step by step with the features proposed by Cyan (or it gets those gadgets time after time of you hold it long enough)

But in the gamemodes we have now it would just encourage base camping even more unfortunally.

I'd personally let all these in if the turrets were set so they could only track targets on radar.  Then, an ecm-laden mech could at least sneak in and pelt those pricks who sit just within the turrets' maximum range.

If the defenses where manned I could see it beeing a cool idea, but it really doesn't make sense.

Also, the idea makes base rape on the losing team worse because if they're losing they won't have the Cbills to get the upgrades.

I agree. More than once have I found myself spawning, going to my mech in the hanger bay, and finding my base has been invaded because there's only a couple of turettes around it, and they managed to destroy them quickly enough to get in and just kill my teammates and myself as soon as we spawn.

Place a turret inside the hangar.

That would prevent the most egregious base invasions right off.

I agree - mean motherfapper turrets at the Hangar/Helipad, and perhaps inside the spawn area.

Stops/discourages baseraping. Doesn't encourage sitting in base and camping. :3

maybe a system like in world in conflict (mechcom mod for this game would be awesome too ... just a idea in the heat of battle xD)

so if you some guys stay at the base, the base build a defens (and the guys there get points for building it) so this should be just a featur for capturable bases...

maybe it can combined with a game mode like in wic, if u die u take a mech or tank and get airdroped from a dropship or so to a point in a large spawn area ... so u have less spawn camping because u can spawn behind the spawn camper if they are too deep in your spawn zone

and you dont need any "base/spawn defense" because no1 can go so high (beside all air vehicles ...)
