MWLL Crashing after 30-45min
« on: March 14, 2010, 01:36:43 AM »
MWLL is giving me an error after about 30-45 minutes of gameplay. I haven't been able to make it through a round without it crashing on me. I am thinking it could possibly be because of my overclock. I just got a Q9550 2.83 @ 3.7ghz. I ran prime95 for 14hrs and ran IBT on maximum for 10 passes. So I know my overclock is stable. I am just thinking Crysis might not like the overclock too much. All the other games I play run fine. I have not had any problems with any other applications been running this overclock for over a week now. I do not want to give up the overclock because playing it without the overclock kills my fps to being unplayable.

I feel your pain. When I OC I get crashing too.  I never fully vetted my OC so I'm just blaming the instability on that and not on MWLL.  When I run at factory settings I don't seem to crash as much if ever to my recollection.  My advice is to spend a lot more time finding OC settings that are stable.  Continue to tweak them as described by any number of guides available online or to your own experience.  Fortunately, crashing and returning to the same server puts you back in at the same rank as when you crashed so all is not lost.  I really like that feature btw.

Yup my OC made the game crash way too often. It's very likly your OC. I also find people with XP crash alot more often than anyone else (In case you have XP). There is unlikly much you can do about either.

I just lowered my OC very slightly and now it's fine, maybe you should just lower your OC by .1ghz and see if it's any better.

I lowered my sound quality to low and have played for two hours straight so that might have been the problem. I am just going to have to play more to see if that was the case. If not I'm going to have to lower my OC:(
