God damn it Siilk

HA!  No italics!!!  ::)

I rarely use override, then again, most of the time i'm dead before my coolant runs out... I have a tendency to get tunnel vision... and I dislike going dangerously high in the heat levels...

LRMs are just another part of the circle of death
"Novacat died of natural causes."

You sir are a gentlemen that has saved another LRM thread.
I will not waste the time to post another long post about LRMs. So I'll make this short.
Learning how to use LRM should be a newbie's goal. When it works, what prevents it from working. who dodges you and why.

Oh and my daily off-topic rant of the day: There are free, open, public Team Speak servers dedicated to MWLL. Please don't complain about a lack teamwork.

i only read the first few posts so i apoligise in advance if i am repeating someone
OP is a tool
lrm's have a very slow turning angle and have a short range limatation (even tho clan lrms don't in table top) they wont hit much inside of 400m and nothing inside of 300m
they generate alot of heat have medium reload time and ammo restrictions ,and they also do random area damage so compared to other long range things (heavy gauss, ppc) they arent that good at all, IMHO their main use is supression fire, forcing people to stick to cover and confining their movment

if your going over 65km towards the source of the lrms you should be able to move inside their turning circle, also what i practice is using team mates as cannon fodder making sure there more prone to being targeted as primary rather then me, wide angles of approch and taking the long way round

please don't make noob drama attacks agenst this game because of your personal issues, this wont kill the game ,infact lrm's are great for newer people to learn to shoot with out having to be able to lead and predict shots like the pro's
I agree that money doesn't bring happiness, all I ask is a chance to prove it.

oh you mean it'll be a crutch for life for new people entering the game... now it makes sense.

despite their current limitations (range and turning capabilities), they're extremely easy to use.  no way around that fact.

While I agree with you, I personally am terrible with LRMs. It's not because they're not easy to use, but my personality. I'm like a snarling dog trying to get off the chain and excel in CQB and mid range fighting. Every time I try to take an LRM boat, if soeone isn't narcing or I don't have JJ's, I invariably end up getting too close to the fray.

In any event, missiles are more popular than ever. I was even in a few Marshes matches, the map that should be least LRM friendly, and almost all of both teams spent the majority of the round just lobbing missiles over that one no man's land area. Without any backup, I found it difficult to close into CQB even on that map, and in passive sensor mode.

I also hate when a map degenerates into pure LRM spam. There really is no great way to stop except to call out a challenge to the other team. "lets brawl over by the dropship!"

You forgot the LT, a natural enemy of LRM spammers. ::)

was just in marshes, had no problem maintaining a lock on a mech max range running through trees and behind hills with my MKII Prime...  he was running laterally to me, small mech, cant remember what it was.  100% missile hit.  So much for running laterally helping any...

I play as OlOneLeg, and for the past week, I've pretty much done nothing else but use an Uller B or Osiris B specifically to run behind the battle-lines to find the LRM boats and blow them up. The light mech you shot at in marshes was likely a Cougar, or was in the water with no MASC.

Ravens, Ullers, and Osiris (or, at the very least, the variants with MASC) are essentially immune to LRMs and most missiles in general, if the pilot makes the effort to be aware of inbound missiles and avoids running headlong into obstacles.
