Though, I've been thinking on this, and I've got to ask... which hand would the battle armor use to plant the explosives?

The left, totally makes sense.  And no, I'm not left handed  ::)

I think he meant the following(correct me, Brainwright, it I'm wrong): if right arm is the "weapon arm" and left arm is "the claw"(see picture below), and the claw is used to attach BA to a mech, the only free arm is "weapon arm" and it looks like it isn't well suited to planting explosives.

groin mounted launcher

This.
We will have a BA mech-humping force.

/Merf - Thinks the little buggers are a bit too "personal" with its mech already...

My toughts exactly, plus you can't even use C8 while clawed, as the splash of it would surely kill you.
Ever tried to stand on the right LRM rack of a Catapult and attached a C8 to the left one? Kills you. Same with standing far on the back of a Madcat and attaching one at the tip of the cockpit, kills you, too  ::)
Claw is totally hyped and will not even come close to what people think now.

All weapons you could use while attached to a mech would be SBL, AC2, Bearclaw-AC, NARC and TAG, and two of those would be very stupid and one useless

Dude.  You just slap two C8's on there, jump off, and jump back on once they've gone off.  Rinse, repeat, and get your points.

It's not that hard a concept.

Though, I've been thinking on this, and I've got to ask... which hand would the battle armor use to plant the explosives?

Try doing that now...  First C8 charge goes off before you can plant the second.

I don't get too close, as it's rather hard to keep that kind of distance for any length of time, but I've been able to land on a mech before, toss two C8s on, and jet off before they've gone off.  Standing on the ground, I've been able to toss two on regularly.

Though, I will say that I used to be able to toss three or four on in succession, and now that seems to no longer be the case.  There seems to be a delay after the second, and it wasn't there before.

So there might be client issues involved.

Claw would be useless if you wouldn't be able to stick on a mech for long.
It's primary role would be to bear BA onto and from the battlefield on friendly mechs.

Also BA could still use the claw to ride friendly mechs, which is another important use of it.

I'm with you. To be accurate with clan tactics, Omnis should have the possibility to transport Elementals to battle (Omnis have some kind of handles for them). The energy limit should be only to climb up to IS mechs because they don't have those handles, so they need to grasp where ever they can, spending some energy.

Give an IS technician a welding kit and some handles and see how long that advantage lasts.. hint, about 5 minutes.

like i've said before, we don't need to limit claw time.  we should let players limit it themselves.

Every time someone gets an elemental stuck to their vehicle, have a little icon display above their vehicle and have some bracket appear around their radar sig. Pretty much what we do now for showing the location of narcs, but for attached elementals.

Having the entire enemy team know exactly where you are should provide enough incentive to stay on for only as long as its safe, but also allow you to capitalize off of grabbing onto loners
Wherever mechs are needed, I am there
