I'd stay away from the 9500 which I believe is only an upgraded version of the 8800gtx, someone correct me if I am wrong. If you are on a budget, mnimum I'd get for this game is a GTX 260. A GTX 275 is what I have got and am able to run the game at 1920x1080 with most details on very high/medium settings. If you got the money and willing to spend it go all out and get a GTX 285 or 295.

the video card is gonna limit your performance quite a bit- if you're on a budget i'd get less ram and invest in a better card. 4870 or 5770's are very good cards- also, i upgraded from 1066 ddr2 to 1600 ddr3 with a 4870 and got quite a big boost in performance with the mod before i upgraded my card- so you should definately go ddr3. I have a phenom 955 and it does great, 945 is basically the same thing so you're good there.

If you're on a budget, downgrade the RAM amount to 4GB but upgrade the RAM type+speed to DDR3 as Phenom II's do get a boost from it (as noted above), and get a GTX 260 at the very least.

New generation Fermi-family should be out by the end of the month, so I'd suggest that you wait and see how it affects the prices.

Fermi shouldn't cause any major prices drop considering the benches I've seen comparing it to the ATI 5000 cards. The GTX480 is suppose to be about 30%faster than the 5870 and is being released at $600 IIRC. The 5970 is gonna remain top dog atleast for alittle longer, and it costs the same price as the GTX480. What I personally think Fermi is gonna bring about is the ATI 5890.

Benchmarks I'm refering too- http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117000

As for the video card suggestion, the 9500gt is no where good enough. If your using a 19" monitor or smaller, look at the gts250 from nvidia. 22" monitor, look at the 4870/5770 or GTX260, and for 24" monitors and bigger, the GTX275,GTX285,and GTX295 from Nvidia or the ATI 5850, 5870(which I'm currently using) and 5970 are the cards for the job.

I agree with Sannyasi here, 4870 and less but faster RAM is best choice budget-wise. As for CPU, I have no experience with modern AMD processors(I use Core 2 duo 8500), so I cannot advise you anything on this matter.

Nvida's numbers lie. While the 8800 is actually still good today, the 9500 is nothing like it, it's way slower.
