Shouldn't the Harasser be the fastest land unit in the game? Right now that honour seems to belong to the Osiris, with its 112kph, 160kph MASC...

you know, maybe not full stafing.  cause i can see where you'd end up playing twister with your fingers on the keyboard.

but it'd be awesome if you could really get some drift going on.  Maybe thats what the turbo button should do, decrease friction.

i.e.  you go forwards fowards forwards, hold shift, and now turning mostly rotates you while still keeping forward momentum until you start accelerating towards new facing.  However under normal circumstances, they'd drive mostly tank like.  Also need a speed boost

uuh ooh strafing didn't think about that yet, but you're absolutely right! Looking at the realism issue: The damn thing is hovering, so it could strafe for sure! :)
Could be done by adding rotateyaw command for hovercrafts...
Unless the Harasser's propeller layout is different from modern hovercraft, it can't strafe, or at least strafe straight sideways.

Since i had nothing to do anyway I just tried this... and you're right.
How did I manage to miss that bug  :o
The LGauss-Harasser is my favorite early game unit, so i use it all the time...

Turbo does not speed you up and it doesn't help you accelerating (does not generate heat eather), it just makes sound.
Needs more flames painted on the side then

Worry not. Once that Harasser appears I'll put real flames all over it. Accept no substitute.

Back to topic: Did you already noticed the 'boost' sound? Ok, no speed increase.

This leads me to just one point: I suppose the too slow max speed is just bug atm.

And to the the strafing ability of the Harasser: Yes, would love it, would turn the Harasser into a real Hovercraft and would make its handling unique AND would really be good deal for the trade of speed/manouverbility vs armor.

why would you need to strafe if you have a rotating turret,  or is this more about being able to move in any direction on the x an y axis immediately?

Agree with this completely, also would love to see a few more hover units in the game generally.. The pegasus especially..  However, I don't think that jacking up the speed would be very effective unless they significantly reduced the flipping problem first.. If you think its bad now imagine if you actually went twice as fast, we could have a game mode called hovercombined with a giant ramp on it lol..

I agree, Svantovit only needs strafe because of it's lacking the turret. Harasser is ok without strafe. Also, about the harasser "boost sound". Currently, "turbo mode" did not increase max harasser speed, but makes it accelerate faster.

That would be soooo awesome! But not only on boost but generally when going "fast" (over a certain speed)
Still I would love to have the ability to strafe manually with hovercrafts.

as stated above there is a current issue with what we shal now refear to as "the supension" of the tanks, i could imagine this would be even worse if i was going sideways at high speed

not saying i don't love the idea, i think its great
but theres alot of work still to do b4 this can be done
