Well worth the install

After being shown this site by a friend I decided to actually buy Crysis JUST to try this out.

I was not disappointed. The mech I tried "felt" right and the pure awesomeness of the explosions and firefights going on around me was the most intense experience I've ever seen in ANY mech game.  It's hard to believe this is a mod and not an entirely fleshed out game in its own right.

My attempt to fly a VTOL was short lived due to be encountering some missiles while trying to figure out how to fly... but I'll get the idea later :)

I look forward to (hopefully) years more entertainment from this mod...

PS : To any of those that may or may not been harmed by my LRM20s on my lil ol Puma... I salute ya :)

welcome, I just posted this over at other new VTOL pilot so i'd might as well share it here too

Three main tips for new VTOL pilots is

1) Stay has high as you can, this keeps you out of range for some weapons, and the ones that can reach you will like RAC2s and MG fire will spread out for decreased damage.
2) Don't hover in one place for too long, you'll just attract gauss bolts flying at you :p
3) Learn out to go full trust while making a hard bank (without crashing of course).  This will help you avoid missiles and evade clustered AA fire.

Actually no.

Played quite a bit of pen and paper back in the day (fond memories of taking down a clan assault omnimech with a Hollander that had a Gauss rifle by getting a lucky headshot...) and have played all the various computer Mech games.. inclusing the old Crescent Hawk campaign WAAAAAAY back in the day.

I look forward to learning the game more as I play... just wish there was a limited bot system so I could practice a little before being thrown to the wolves so to speak :)

certainly worth the install ;)  one of 2 reasons I bought crysis, cause i'd certainly not get crysis if not for this and (hopefully someday) Rise.
