Errors when loading

I really hope this is the right forum for this.  Apologies in advance if its not.

I bought Crysis specifically to play this game.  I've grown up on BattleTech, having read the novels and played the board game decades ago. 

The mod appeared to install without a hitch, however, when I try to run it, I initially get a .NET Framework error talking about an unhandled exception, specifically referencing DirectX Audio/Video Playback.  If I click "Continue" then I am presented with a menu where I can select "Launch 32-bit Game" with Elementals as a backdrop.  Clicking that button gives me a Windows dialog box saying "Crysis.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" blah blah blah, with the "Send Error Report"/"Don't Send" buttons.

I am running Windows XP and its up-to-date on patches and service packs.

Any ideas?

 That particular error means you have to update your DirectX to the latest version. Use the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

 BTW, check that you have 1.2 and 1.2.1 crysis patches installed, as they are required to run MWLL.

Thanks, that worked!  Now I can't login.  I can login to gamespy via the website and via the little window that pops up when my PC boots, but the same username/password combo doesn't work in the game.

Logged in using Crysis first, that worked.  Now I can get to the login screen, and it starts looking for servers (in MWLL) and then I get the Windows error again...

 What errors exactly(screenshots appreciated)? Also, could you connect to any multiplayer server from vanilla crysis?

Says "Connecting to Flash Attack #1" and then the audio skips, the screen jumps back to Windows, and I get the "Crysis.exe has encountered a problem....."

Installed patches 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, re-installed MWLL, rebooted, etc.  Still a no-go.

Yep.  Joined a game in Cyrsis just fine.

 Make sure your firewall or antivirus software don't block crysis from connecting. also, try starting game locally (Start MWLL, then main menu->Multiplayer->create server) to test if it works at all.

K.  Run just fine when I start a local server.  I've disabled my firewall and still no-go online.  I'll try to disable anticirus (Avast) next and see what happens.

 Hm... It seems you have more serious issue here. Try looking through this thread to find a possible solution. If nothing there helps, just wait for someone of the devs to answer.

So can you play on-line games of Crysis?
If so have you tried replacing your copy of MWLL?

Yes, I can play Crysis online.  And yes, I've re-installed MWLL three times now.  Same result.

Are you using Quick Connect? Then don't it doesnt work with mods.
