The Warhammer isn't much cheaper than the Than... huh, well I still think the war has better heat and ammo management than the Than.

I've been thinking alot about the bushy prime and how about this:

Give the LRM-5's a much quicker refire rate, this would allow them to overcome the small salvos and would have godly harassing power, at their current refire rate you will almost NEVER get through 240 ammo unless you stand on a mountain and fire without fear of reprisal for an hour. I personally think that would make the LRM5's very useful. As for the Laser and Mguns, I think those are fine how they are. The AC10 is the hardest to buff, only thing I can think of is a HyperVelocity AutoCannon 10 instead?
Around the same weight and the faster and farther projectile would again be great at harassing, the less ammo might be a problem but not a big one.

I myself really don't like messing with the Prime Variants because they are so classic but in a few cases something needs to be done. Like my comment on the Mauler Prime, the AC2's spread is great for AA but shitty for any ground target as it spreads the damage too much, its more the fault of the weapon implement than the variant or mech tbh.

Some of these descriptions seem accurate but I will have to disagree about the Puma Prime and Madcat C.

I can take the Puma Prime through and entire round. The fact that it carries two CERPPCs, GECM, and moves at around 95km/s (can avoid missiles if moving laterally from the point of fire) makes it a very mobile hard hitting mech. The flamers let it deal with any BA and cause extra heat/damage while waiting on the CD of the PPCs. It has 5 double heatsinks which work well enough to reduce its heat. Only down side is its lack of MASC that the rest of the Pumas get. I can go toe to toe with a any medium/light mech (barring a HGauss Holly when my first PPC salvo decides to not take out the gun as it will oneshot my puma by the time my PPCs have reloaded).

The Madcat C is a beast up close. It will annihilate anything in its path if used correctly. I remember taking out an atlas, vulture, and another Madcat C all at the same time. I know I might have just been up against new players but the LBX and SRMs can put some serious hurt up close. Yes it has issues with getting to the fight without getting destroyed by long range focus fire, but the AMS and proper use of twisting your torso will make it last awhile (Madcats have a crapton of armor).

The list that is complied here seems to favor certain weapon types. Every weapon is effective when used in the right spot/time. I have killed countless mechs/pilots with flamers (they were heavily damaged by my other weapons or from an open cockpit from accidental ejection). I have also shot a plane out of the air with an AC 20. It is all about playstyle and I feel that the only way to actually find out how effective things are is to look at how often they are bought.

I think one flaw of these ratings and the subsequent arguments is that they all seem to be based on 1v1 situations.  These situations do occur but not nearly enough to warrent choosing a mech on it.  I love the Mad Dog prime but I would never choose it in a 1v1 area.  I use it as a fire support and direct medium range damage.  You just have to circle the outskirts of battle.  And I must agree with earlier arguments that ssrm against lights is amazing.  I generally do not take a ligh mech to start I use the harasser prime An manage to level up in no time and get the 6 cermbl puma which can put the hurting on anything.  Just my .02 and strategies

The Vulture Prime is very effective as probably the hardest to kill missile boat.  It's got decent armor and maneuverability, GECM, and a reload for each of its LRM20's.  Try to rush it in a Light or Medium mech and you'll get shredded by the pulse lasers.  Fairly decent capabilities in that regard, but personally, I don't care for it.
Totally agree with snowball again, for the upteen-thousand time. Vulture Prime is the best Missile platform when there is a coordinated team providing NARC.

You've got 960 LRM missiles, 360 degree twist (so you can keep circling to avoid LT and aircraft), and when some Scat or other brawler decides that missile boats need to be eaten, you've got tons more armor and can slaughter light and medium mechs with all those pulse lasers. God help them if they dont pick you first. GECM helps greatly to protect against all attackers.

Quite frankly, late game, when Novacats, Mad cats, Atlases, Maulers, etc. are being fielded, constant LRM spam will eat them alive. No heavy or assault mech should make it to the front line without atleast a yellow torso.

With proper Teamspeak coordination, a vulture prime sends 4 volleys (160 missiles) towards each NARC.
Deforesting clearcut since Dec 26 2009.

I agree that the Vulture Prime is the best Missile mech in weapons and electronics, but don't count out the Catapult prime. Catapult has more armor, JJ's, a harder to hit profile (easier to spread the damage) and the x4 Med's can be shot many more times than the Pulse lasers before there are heat problems.
I prefer the Catapult when having to go out on my own, and the Vulture when going behind team mates. I kinda agree the Vulture needs to be closer to its original speed, a bit slow atm.

My 2 cents are on the Vulture Prime over the Cata, just for simple reason of the pulse and 360 TT will keep you alive a lot longer against those scats.

I can be witness - seen a Sulla shot down with this one... though can't remember who was shooting.

Beatstick can shot down the VTOL too... but it also requires tons of luck... almost like killing the BA standing in front of the launcher, on mech with LRM20s.

After playing the Hollandar B for the first time (UAC20, 2 flamer, 2 MGs) I can say this thing is a beast, at least on Inferno.  The UAC20 can handle itself almost as well as a heavy gauss when most of your battles range at 400m instead of 600m.  The flamers and MGs are perfect for BA swatting, something the heavy gauss variant can't defend itself against.  Its at least a 3 star mech in my mind, and 4 star on maps that are better for the short range concentration.

I like the puma prime too.
Only thing that frustrates me with this mech is that its cerppcs are mounted so low to the ground that and small bumps in the terrain within 100m block your shots so you have to run a long way out of cover to fire. Also does not work well on marshes because the mech is so low i often run into a pool of water and cant see anything. On other maps I love it though.
