Alright,

I'm as tired of this as you are.  It has been posted up here per your request

We do understand that some people can be confused by the unit's name, but we quickly correct any misconceptions as they arise. This theory of common misconception has one hole in it in relation to the OP, which is that he knew to post on the actual TLL forums, and then decided to come over to the MWLL forums to continue griping.

You are really portraying me in an unfair light here.  If you read the second post in this thread, you will see that whitedrake told me to go to your forums and post there.  Check the timestamp.

So I guess here comes the spotlight. Why don't you explain to us all XitiX why it is that you decided you wanted to impersonate one of our members, regardless of whatever misconception you had about our unit or our server? I mean the only reason I can come up with is to misrepresent yourself as a server administrator, which is actually worthy of a permanent ban.

Once again, I am not an online gaming guru.  I didn't impersonate a server administrator.  I was trying to change my name to TLL XitiX because I was trying to promote the official servers over the cracked ones.

So you have no clue that we are a Unit, that we do not represent MWLL, and whatever else you want to claim, but you know that there have been multiple other situations that mirror yours? There are multiple "bans" that are happening? You seriously need to get a grip on reality and for the love of all that is holy, stop posting your gripe about being banned from our servers that we pay for on the MWLL boards. You know exactly where you need to post your complaint and until it is in the correct place we will not even investigate the issue at hand.

Once again, I've posted on your board, and you responded here.  If the conversation is happening here, it's by your choice.

don't add a clan tag unless you have been invited to that clan.  If you do, you open yourself up to harassment, bannings, etc...  and no one will feel sorry for you.

with that knowledge, i allow you to add +1 to your "online gaming guru" skill level.

Redvan, that has been established multiple times throughout the thread.  As I've said, it won't happen again.

Captain Striker <S>

As a server admin from way back (mercs) i can well understand your points, and i can fully understand your pov. Ive banned ppl for less, and always took a very dim view of invalid clan tags.
I have even added entire subnet provider ranges to my firewall to keep trouble makers out of the game, and our forums  have a section just for these people, where we hang their heads on a pole for all to see so to speak.
I wouldnt dare try and suggest how any admin sets and enforces server rules, but it does strike me in this instance as if the perpetrator having made a mistake,  is respectfully asking for a little slack

The quality of mercy is not strained, seems an apt way to sign off

With respect

I'd like to point out something I think maybe Striker is not considering.

It's obvious the op is new to this game, thus new to the community, and how it operates. That said, I play many other games, as most do, and in some of those, I have come across favorite servers that like to "spread the word" about their servers/sites, and thus encourage wearing the tags. Trashed Gamers is one that springs to mind for TF2. Over the years of gaming, I've worn support tags in this fashion. That way, when I see another bud ingame and he asks "What's \TG/ stand for?" The intended effect has taken place, and they are p1mped, as it were.

You sound like this isn't a possibility in your list of possible explanations, and I can attest that it is. In fact, my current nick I've only been wearing in tribute til a favorite cartoon character is brought back to life.(Kinda like a black armband) Once the new eps are out, and he's back...I will probably return to the old faithful nick. My point being, that nick wore the \TG/ tag for about 8 months in support, but I wasn't part of any kind of clan. Just hung on a cool server is all, giving props. Not every gaming community is regimental, and reality is rarely black and white, so there are going to be some new bloods that may seem suspicious to your point of view, but just remember, not everyone is an asshat out to make your life miserable. I used to run a UT2K4 server for awhile and know how hard it can be to keep a clean pub going so I give props to you guys for that!

I just have this feeling this was an honest mistake, a dude screwing around, maybe a lil excited is all.

Although I have been fooled before too...
