My first time playing MWLL :D

Hello all,

Well yesterday I finished my computer build and so today I installed the operating system, installed crysis, patched it and then installed MWLL.

I was expecting to have to use dialup to connect and play on MWLL. I have a droid phone I use for regular internet but for mw4 the droids internet never let me join any servers so I've always been forced to use dialup. I am happy to say that MWLL's servers let me join with my droids 3g internet so I'm able to run with low ping and smooth play .

It definitely takes some getting used to with the controls! I seem to be better at getting points in vehicles until I can get high enough to buy a heavy or assault. I love the graphics and the maps are great!

I have to say I felt like a total noob, I got 2 kills when I was in the 4x AC5 vehicle (dont remember the name). And I got schooled in every light and medium mech I took into battle. Definitely going to take some practice to get better in the mechs.

So how's the computer perform? What settings are you able to run MW:LL at? You happy with MW:LL after buying a computer to run it?

The computer is great! On the rating scale from microsoft, of 1 to 7.9. All my ratings are between 7.3-7.4.

I am able to run all settings on high with my 20 inch (1600x900) screen. I dont have any AA on because I dont know what it does but otherwise all my settings are set to high.

I'm definitely happy with MWLL. It's true MWLL and the upcoming mw3015 are the only reason I built this computer . Thanks again Barbaric for the tips on which parts to buy!

Light mechs are really tricky, people sometimes just go partisan until they can hit mediums.  Personally, the Osiris B made me a believer.

Lights are all about making the other guy miss, it could be from being really active on the throttle shifting, using masc to do some wicked stop and goes, figure out how to use JJs to make the terrain work for you.  But the 2 major things, 1) don't target fixate 2) know when to just run!

Yea... Osiris B is a beast - 2 days ago I earn 500 000 CBills from the start of the game without loosing any part of my mech - it was like... "wow" - killed 2-3 partisans, BAs, countless warhammers (never thought that they are so fragile against this monster), Mauler, and the Gauss Vulture.
Someone should replace AC20 with AC10 on this variant cause it's waaay too good.

How does it fare DPS wise against the 2lbl 1mbl variant?

I say it all depends on your aim.  If you can arc the AC ballistics you have a huge punch if it lands, consequently if you miss... :p  Don't forget that the AC20 also has splash damage which helps take BA's on the ground.

I have a hard time using the LBLs on it cause they require you to stay on target for almost 2 seconds to get the highest damage potential which isn't conducive to run and gunning.

on 2ndary weapons, the 3sbl have a super fast recycle time and i would makes it at least equivalent if not a slightly better than the 1mbl.

Ultimately it comes to play style.  if you like run and gun go for the B, if you prefer to hang back and snipe/poptart, go A

Last night I was playing and I made it up several ranks. I had 7 kills and I think 12 deaths. Not great but it was only my secons time playing ever. I used the partisan prime and took out a couple aero's, 2 osiris, 1 owens, 1 damaged warhammer, and a thanatos. I am hoping to join earlier into a game so I can play longer and level up enough to get an assault or better heavies.

not bad, you'll just keep getting better.  don't forget to ask your teammates for spare change 4/5 times most of the top players have no problem with that.

I also played first time yesterday (before that I just joined to see how it looks). And I've observed some things:
-Best mech game ever!
-For someone with slides-how (not so good computer) and high ping, Owens B is great
-criticals happens too often - I died (or lost mech) 5 times because of them on extermity (or whatever this map is called), enemy destroyed me just twice...
-Vulture is sooooo slooooow....
-Many newbs like me play this game - on third map (Sand-something) I managed to be 3rd top player in my team with GC rank (~30 players game)
-After reading so many whining about LRM boats and LT I haven't been killed by them as much (maybe because I were playing as Light mech all the time?), while I've killed a lot of them thou...
-killing BA with slide-show and 150 ping is pain in ass

I can definitely say with practice my learning curve is getting better!

I actually had top kills for 2 more games last night and made it up to the rank of galaxy commander (I believe it was called).

Oh and you were right about top people sharing their money during games, one guy asked our whole team if any of us wanted money (I had joined with only like 14 minutes left), and so I had a few kills with my partisan prime and then with his gift of money I was able to jump into an assault

I still cannot get over how awesome this game is! The more I play it the more and more I love it!
