Battle Armor Grenade Interrupt

Process :

Buy multiple grenades at spawn.

Begin tossing grenades, mashing the grenade toss button.

Result : grenade toss animation fires but sticks without tossing a grenade.  Weapon selected prior to tossing does not reappear and does not function.  You also cannot toss a grenade.  Switching to a different grenade will allow you to toss grenades again and will finish normally, allowing you to fire normal weapons again.  Re-selecting your weapon will also allow normal function again.

Reproduction : 5/5

I wasn't able to determine a particular timing, in part due to a standard delay between throws, it seems.  I simply mashed the button.

Severity : 2/5

It's annoying when sneaking up behind mechs.  However, I wasn't able to notice the weapon sticking during combat, likely due to the fact that I would be switching weapons to add extra damage before the grenades exploded.  With a little bit better timing, I can resume taking down mechs before they even know what hit them.

However, it could be related to the flamer bug I reported some time ago.


Incidentally, while testing this on Extremity (it was tested in other maps), I found that when tossing inferno grenades at the walls of certain base structures in D2 (specifically the outer walls, nowhere else) that they did not do damage to my battle armor, even though I was in the blast radius of about 15m.

Severity : undocumented

I'd need to see what other surfaces cause this bug, but if it's effect is only on those structures, the effect is minimal.  Laying infernos on targets in combat is still usually a great way to get yourself killed.

This is a known issue, you can fix it by switching weapons, then throwing again.

This bug is still present after all this time. IMO with the larger explosion radius and new [M]ap bug, using C8 is becoming ridiculously harder. "My C8 stopped, okay I'll press M (making it MUCH harder to move). Wait, no it's the OTHER C8 bug that has the same effect. Okay, I'll switch weapons and"*BOOMDEAD*

I'd also like to note that since the new update, I've only rarely thrown more than 3 C8 in a row. And I've thrown a LOT of C8. Previously, this problem would have a significant chance of occurring, but still a chance. Now it seems to be the rule rather than the exception. I'd personally rate the severity higher than the OP from all that time ago.
