Looking good man, I couldn't even imagine how to create or design a map.

Abandoned. I always liked the citys in MW4 Mercenaries - never knowing, when the next Atlas sneaks around a corner.
It's Battletech - not Logitech

I'd like to see a plain, relatively featureless open field map. Maybe some very light rolling hills, but on the whole pretty much a clear shot between the two firebases. Maybe two maps, one with rolling hills and one that's more of a plains.

Plains:

Rolling Hills:

While advanced tactics regarding cover and odd obstacles are good and well and can be quite exciting, every single map in the game is currently built as such, thus making it feel a bit 'forced' as if it's compensating balance-wise for long-ranged weapons being too powerful (or short-ranged weapons being too weak).

So many canon Battletech battles take place on such plain, relatively featureless terrain. There's nothing that showcases the power, majesty, and awe of Mech combat like a good ol' slugfest on an open field of battle.

Between the available options, give me urban combat. I accidentally voted Void, though... I forgot we already have a space map since I avoid Extremity so much.

As it stand currently SA_Abandoned is takeing me longer to finilize the buildings due to clipping issues and other things. Textureing is the longest process for these im trying to not overuse the same ones. As such i have seen some requests and a quite a bit more were interested in the underwater fight idea i had. As such i have taken these factors into consideration and have decided to persue completeing the following maps to be released in a beta pack for test on my server.

SA_Void- Out along the periphery Kurtian forces have come to clash with the ghost bears. Two dropships locked in combat have now become derelect husks but the battle still rages on.

SA_Poseidon- The clans look to take a foothold by capturing the large geothermal generators that supply the outposts on this oceanic world with their lifes blood. The for now dormant volcano formed these scatered islands fueling the war that wages here and sets the stage for these engagments.

SA_Glory- The fields here cover the span of land between the space port and the farmland out west. This trade route is now being contested as the clans have captured the space port the InnerSphere forces work to take it back starting here.

Once these maps are in a decent beta stage i will then work solely on Abandoned. Ill improve the other maps as i go but my focus will be on getting abandondeds textures working and looking right. This will all help me gain feedback on how my layouts are what works and dosent and overall improve my development of my maps especialy Abandoned. Better to get things right and not rush them.

Actually, this sounds awesome to me. (as plain as it is ;D)
Once the LT gets some strong disadvantages according mobility (or maybe if it is deactivated on this map) something like this could be pretty playable. It would force peole to stick with fast MASC mechs, fast tanks and combined heavy/assault AMS lances so they are able to survive the constant LRM bombing, but that is nothing I wouldn't play. Actually, since I'm an Owens pilot, I'd like that scenario. Running around at the flanks, rushing in only long enough to kill or disable a LRM Boat that seperated to far from it's team, then turn tail and run for your life  ;D.
ASF would be pretty dangerous too, because you have nowhere wo hide from bombing runs.

To keep this playable the map should be very big, maybe something about 6 x 6 km, to avoid people from beeing killed by LRM and ERPPC the moment they exit one of the hangars/dropships (I would use 3 per team) and to prevent a single AA to reach from one end of the frontline to the other. Some small details should also be added to the map, to prevent it from looking barren and empty, maybe a small wood, 1 or 2 hamlets or farms consisting of only 3 or 4 mech-knee high buildings and a small river flowing from the NE to the SW corner of the map.

This would be beautiful  ;D

void, because zero gravity combat has always appealed to me, absolute freedom of movement is AWESOME!

Zero-G movement seems to me to be more limiting than movement within a gravity field. You have to have even more ways to propell yourself to control your position in zero-g.  I don't like it personally. It's far more complicated to move around.

*psst* use the "C" and "X" key to roll and adjust your movement in low gravity situations. It makes playing as a Battle Armor in space really fun

Extremity - most hated map of Beta 0.1.0

So even if some of us would like it - I'm not sure if general public will be that much amused. ;)

torn between void and factory

I've only played MW4, but a destroyed factory seems nice.

Null-G is also great, but can the dropships have turrets and health?
People are stupid if they think they can have their own way.

... that is, unless they have HEAP rounds, high-explosive homing missiles, and terawatt lasers on a walking weapons platform, that is...

Turrets YES health well they are already derelect so it would be a bit of a moot point. Also not likely to be easily done but destructable sections could be done i reckon.
