Malen's 3D Models (Added Stone Rhino)
« on: April 09, 2010, 08:40:31 AM »
I've been playing MWLL a lot lately, and loving it! Seeing all the cool Battletech stuff alive again with a gameplay style I am very fond of has been very inspirational. A few days ago I felt the need to model something.

Time: 10 hours
Tools: Maya
Reference: Morrigu Fire Support Vehicle

EDIT:
I got around to doing another MechWarrior relevant project. Here is my finished Stone Rhino mech.  :)

Time: 15 hours
Tools: Maya
Reference: Stone Rhino BattleMech

Ok, the Morrigu is already modelled (saw some pictures from it done with the sandbox editor in the old forum), but wow, really great work you did, really impressive!

>>>old pic<<<
Edit: Just watched that screenie again. Is it only me or is the MKII really having a wide smile?!? Reminds me a bit of a rat...  ;D

Yeah, I had noticed that the Morrigu was already modeled for MWLL about half way through modeling mine. I was really just looking for a cool looking tank to model for fun though, and the Morrigu is a mean looking vehicle.  ;D

Why didn't you fell in love with the Centurion or the Cataphract mech?!?
...and have done it with 3DS 2008 and placed the final model in the recruitment section?  ;)

Damn right! If you can do this in 10 hours, Malen, you really can be of great help to the devs team.

i wonder how the morrigu would have to be adjusted though, you know, with the standardized weapons and such.  The present boxy missile racks would kinda clash with the morrigu's rounded design.

not knocking the design, its wonderful work,  just wondering how the issue will be addressed.

Not every vehicle needs to be modular, does it?

well, so far they all have,  at least thats my understanding

the huit doesn't even resemble the tro illustration after it got modded to have modular weapons

You could see the Clan-Morrigu as the counterpart to the IS-Longtom. (since the Morrigu is listed as a fire support tank)  ;)
