I can't wait for this!  (even though I still don't have the first game  :P)

I'm guessing I'm late, but I didn't see any topic here, so...

It would be one more Crysis game. Same shit as first one was, only with number "2" in it.

Crysis when it came out was one of the first true cinematic experiences on the pc. Sure, the AI sucked once you learned how it works, but you could take a thousand different approaches to get rid of them. I will never forget the scene at the graveyard when I just thought i had finished the level, then the VTOL at was coming to get me get shot at from the woods. It was night. I thought, okay just one KPA patrol to get rid of so I run towards them. Suddenly as I climb atop a rock, I see something shimmering in front of me, and a kpa nano suit soldier appeared and started screaming Korean at me and shooting. With my health in the red, and scared shitless because this was the first time I encountered a nano soldier, I hauled ass to hide myself deep in the woods. I crouched behind a tree, cloaked and turned on infrared, and lit a cigarette to think about what I'm going to do. Halfway through the cig, I see something moving on a ridge in front of me. I zoom in and I'm terrified to see there are at least 5 guys cloaked walking in formation combing the forest to find me. It took me another hour, Predator style, to lure them one by one into certain death by my shotgun. Good times.

Can't wait for crysis 2.

i remember that bit
I agree that money doesn't bring happiness, all I ask is a chance to prove it.

As for the trailer:
I first read comments under it at one of portals - it was full of "ohs and ahs" how amazing it is, and how it's the best trailer ever - when I watched it I was not sure if the movie I just saw was the same one people talk about. Sure - it's nice, but it's not epic, great, best, oh, eh, ah, or what so ever in any way.

As for that level:
Hehehe, I was running there like crazy shooting at every blue spark (the guys are easier to kill when cloaked), than hiding in stealth behind the tree... waiting till guys go predator again, and started to run&shoot one more time. It was idiotic, had to reload game about 4 times before passing it, but overall result was that I passed this part quite quickly  ;D

As for Crysis:
What amaze me most is that despite of time that passed - very few games compare in graphic realism to Crysis. I have no idea how that happen... this game gives me an impression that progress towards photorealism in games slowed down by quite a lot during last one and a half a year. Well - maybe not in that, but more in the fact that despite of this - games don't get better and better story-wise.

I still remember reading 4-pages long text in largest Polish gaming magazine about that how good graphics killed the storylines of games. It was shortly after Crysis premier, with it given as example of how flat the story is, with famous Nomad dialogs. Than it was about '80s and '90s when progress in game graphics was very slow comparing to 2005+, and when more deep games were made, cause that was the factor that made a difference for players, not the arts. Now we have DX10 which didn't gave any breakthrough comparing to DX9.0c, DX11 is going to come soon, which new feature is barely upgraded bump-mapping, games look just as Crysis did in 2008, and yet - story-wise very little has changed.

Anyway - what's best in Crysis IMHO is the fact that this game deserves more score than it granted in 2008. Perhaps it's not best shooter ever made, but it's really good game, one of very few titles I'd play again amongst shooters, perhaps even: the only shooter I'd play again aside from Half-Life 1. This is amazing. Something what very rarely happen for me. Most of games are fun only first time - than they are disappointing.

Most big games are released for consoles too and the 360 especially isn't as strong as gaming PCs have been for a while...

@ Trailer
Could be nice, but if the game is about fighting aliens all the time, I hope they've made them less annoying than they were in Crysis.
I'll wait for previews and the like before I decide if I'll get it or not.

@ Crysis level
That part was fun, when someone started sniping me, I got to cover, cloaked and tried to find the shooter, didn't see anyone, so I went into speed mode hoping to draw fire again and see where it was coming from.
Ran right into one of them.
I think I wasted half my assault rifle ammo on him till he dropped, then noticed there were more around.
Tried out the taser and well... It worked >_>
So I stunned them and beat them up while they were helpless on the ground.
Not very heroic, I know, but effective. They really should have made them immune to it.

Strength mode melee attacks devastate Korean nanosuits, if you're short on guns, the guys you killed right before the cemetary are sitting on a wealth of weapons. Sub machine guns, heaps of ammo, there might even be some assault rifles there. Easiest tactic to split them up is to attack them, then recloak and hide for 30 seconds or so, they break up to find you. Then you can club them like baby seals until the vtol lands.

of course once you get the hang of it its really easy to pick off even the nanosuits, but the first time playing when you have no idea what to expect and arent yet accustomed to the game mechanics, that level is a bitch  8)

my fav was confusing them with a silencer from afar. they hear a shot and they run towards the hit not wondering where it came from. like little stupid sheep :D

i sincerely hope AI is much smarter in crysis 2.

That said their health regeneration is really insane. If you can't keep the pressure on they'll live through anything. Short of maybe 2 gauss rounds to the head, or a couple of rockets.

Crysis was a POS game that seems to me to be more of a tech demo than a game.  Their storyline has MASSIVE holes in it, like how the heck do the NK's obtain nano-suits, when whenever the guy inside dies, the suit disintegrates.  Extremely hush hush stuff and somehow the NK's have them, randomly, out of nowhere.  There are a few other parts that are just pitiful, but that's too much detail.  The multiplayer is the WORST I have ever played and we'll leave it at that.  I would never have bought Crysis if it weren't for this mod.

^^

There are some real technical problems with the engine as well, I hope they actually address with the third incarnation of the Cryengine.  Although rumours of the free (aka like UDK) engine that could possibly be coming might spark a bit more interest (from my side anyway) but as a game Crysis 2 doesn't even interest me one bit.

lol, you can say the exact same thing about any group of real humans (except for referring to them as AI ;)). if you learn their vulnerabilities, you can do whatever you want with them.

but yea.. did u ever play crysis through on Delta difficulty? because my first and lasting impression from that was that the human combat AI was better than any other game that i had played, and i've been playing video games for almost 16 years. (ok.. minus the cheating vehicle AI. those patrol boat gunners and heli pilots can go fapp themselves with their stupid magical, "i can see you from a million miles away, and ID u as a target" vision)
