So far I second everything suggested. I would enjoy the Silver Bullet Gauss though, just so the IS have something to compete with the Clanner's HAGs with.
Plasma Rifles/Cannons. Basically take the PPC's Damage and Offensive-Heat stats and flip them. In Battletech the Plasma Cannons only give heat but I wouldn't mind them basically just being a "Clan Plasma Rifle" for MWLL.
The "Snub" artillery cannons. Come in Thumper, Sniper and Long Tom flavors. Basically artillery cannons that can be mounted on mechs and fired directly as opposed to in an arc. They put out less damage and have much less range than their full sized counterparts.
If some sort of minimum range penalty is added to PPCs (and I really hope there is eventually) the Snub-Nose PPC would be interesting.
Some equipment I would like:
TSM. Even though there probably is never going to be any melee combat I still like the idea of my mech becoming a little faster, more agile and more responsive the hotter is gets.
EI. Someone had a really neat idea for EI in a real-time game, but sadly I forgot who that person is. Basically the cockpit objects you see (metal bars holding the windshield in place, computers, walls, ect) become "predator-style" invisible for you (nobody else of course) when you toggle EI on. This gives you a much better field of view and awareness of the area. I would say as a balancing factor that it adds a little heat while it is on, not to the point where your heat actually rises, but more that it raises the default a little, kind of like running.
Attachments. There are a few weapon attachments in Battletech and I think it would be kind of cool if they were eventually implemented in MWLL. There are also some pieces of equipment that I believe could work well in an attachment system. The way I think it could work is they each take up a small weapons slot and have to be located in the same pod as the weapon they are linked to.
For example, PPC capacitors. Assuming there is a 1xLarge/1xSmall combo pod implemented, the PPC would go in the large slot, and then you have the option to attach the capacitor to take up the small slot. In CBT PPC capacitors allow you to use one turn to charge the PPC, causing it to do more damage at the cost of a proportionate amount of heat. This could be implemented in MWLL in pretty much the same way the Bombast Laser was implemented in MW4. If you have a capacitor equipped, pressing fire once will cause it to begin charging and pressing it again will fire the PPC. The charging starts at normal PPC damage and the longer it charges the more damage and "offensive-heat" the shot will have, but it will also give more heat to the user.
Insulators. Basically you can link one of these to a Laser weapon and cut it's generated heat by a percentage.
The Targeting Computer. One way I was thinking that a TC could work is as an attachment. Basically you can link the TC to any direct fire weapon that requires leading via the method explained above, and that weapon gets a "compensating reticle" based on the speed of the projectile and the speed/direction of the target. Basically the reticle leads the target for you assuming he is traveling in a straight line. The ability to change the part of a mech it is targeting would be cool, but I don't know if that's possible. For this I suggest that its weight be based on what weapon it is linked to. For balancing purposes, a TC helping someone accurately hit with a PPC shouldn't be the same weight as a TC helping someone aim a Heavy Gauss. It's also somewhat true to Battletech.
