I am not sure, Mektek would be the authority on this, but I think you may want to use MTX because it not only downloads it but de-crypts it and then installs it too.

You can use your own client.  We'll be posting a link on the front page shortly.

You then must use MTX to open the mtx (file>open) file. Then click Install.

I just got home from work and fired up MTX to grab the update.  I admit, it's acting rather slow.  Our servers are getting slammed right now and it is causing MTX to hang while it tries to get information for the server.  This means it's acting especially laggy when opened and when you check for updates.  It may even act as thought it's "unresponding."  But give it a few minutes and it should start working.

The download also may start slowly, but really shouldn't wind up taking more than a few minutes to finish.

See the MekTek forums if you're having any major issues.

It's working fine for me.    But I agree that having to work through MTX to make MekTek offerings 'work', and decode all the various numbers for Paks vs Games vs Clients,  is a confusing layer of complexity for those of us who aren't familiar with the way it all works.

the .torrent file is stored in your mektek.net installation folder, in the temp/cache directory i believe.

Bad thing is.... i already got MW4 downloaded (via MTX)... only need the patch to 0.20 to play it so close and still so far away.

got all the patches for MW4 , but cant install them because the "Games Available" Tab is empty... guess i need to update from MTX version 1.0.1.7 to 1.0.1.11. But can't find a download...

As you can see, it's 0017 version so you need the mtx program to update it to 0020

I found the patches 0017->0018->0020

But one still needs MTX to install those. .mtx files are just zips... but the patches somehow contain patch data that can't just be unzip into the install directory....

Does anyone know how to install them offline ?

IMO MTX should be able to install updates offline if patches are loaded into proper MTX folder. But if MTX is older version, then I'm not so sure

I actually found MTX v1.0.2.3, installed and put the patches into the \MTX\temp\games folder (thats where 0017.mtx is located).
Launched MTX.... and it thinks i am not connected to the internet... (guess it can't find mektek.net).
And it won't run. I can avoid clicking that pop up.... and go into the MTX frame... but 'Games Available' stays empty.

Yeah im getting the issue now where it says im not connected to the internet. MW4 has been downloaded but now i cant bloody install it!

Maybe their servers are down I cant get on the website either.

their servers got slammed as in SLAMMED.
mtx still has some problems, BUT i grabbed the 3.1 a few days ago and it was pretty smooth.

last night it was uber slow, and it kept trying to update mtx.
i uninstalled mtx and DL the latest version. but it was slow and weird, and i supposedly had stuff left to dl and it hung so i closed it. WHen i restarted app it said everything up to date. pressed launch game and it did.

i DO love the idea that its a MW platform that does rock,,, thats free... and the whole world can run . We might have a large influx of Mechwarriors from asia.

i eventually got the whole thing working , but not sure about the res i was running at. Its just that mwll LOOKS so damn good.
