I am surprised that the MekTek Devs (who have a damn impressive track record) chose to make the patches rely on MTX and MTX rely on mektek.net even if the patches are already downloaded..... seems like bad judgment.

Only reason i can see is that they have some measures in place to verify no unauthorized code is distributed by someone else.

http://www.mektek.net/ seems to be down, neither that program nor the torrent in other programs work since the tracker is down as well...

Does anyone have a http or ftp mirror for the 1,7 gb .mtx file?

edit: ah cool, utorrent seems to work even with "Tracker Status: hostname not found"

I already asked for a HTTP/FTP mirror for that file and got no answer.

Please, this MTX thing drives me crazy. Plus, I just noticed there's no easy way to uninstall it.

Biggest error made by mektek in this, is that the MTX relys on mektek website and now that it is down, you cannot download the MW4 or install even if you have already downloaded it.

But, lemme say... good things comes for those who can wait

try utorrent.... some people on the net got it to download that way (even with hostname not found).

probably they have DHT turn on an and found a way to share via peer network.  utorrent is my BT software of choice :3  No biggie for me, i've got MWLL for giant robot goodness and Splinter Cell to divert my attention for the new future.

If it has been released by Microsoft  why do we need MTX software to authorize downloads and installation. Someone on Guru3d forums  said "Its free but i feel ripped off" because they cant gain access to it.

Im not being ungrateful for the effort put in for this release I cannot wait to play, but i would have been alot happier waiting that bit longer for the infrastructure to be in place before hand.

I believe that microsoft gave the mw4 to mektek to release it freely. And Microsoft allowed mektek to release modified mw4, better gameplay, mechs and stuff.
