the pure variety will keep you playing this game, and i think we can all agree we want to keep playing.

Watch out for the trench on Paradise though,  wicked gnar yo!!!

Which blatantly breaks balance.  So please keep this in mind when dealing with entrenched LRM users and snipers.

i'm not understanding ..   marshes has no air either...

For the record I didn't/don't agree with Marshes not having an aero or VTOL component.  A great deal of time was spent creating aero/VTOL models, getting them into the game, creating sounds, supporting hangar assets, constructing the flight models, etc.  Also, certain gameplay balancing also takes their presence into account.  My opinion is that it is a huge disservice to the MWLL experience to excise them arbitrarily.

yes, I would like to see air added to Palisades, glacier, and paradise.   I think after running the maps without them their addition would bring a new dimension.   I do suck at flying and just seem to crash or give the other team an easy kill though.. :)    I wish the mechs could look up just a bit more.. :)


I think because the makers of those maps were new they were prob concentrating on controlling some of the design around mechs, and air is a bit harder to factor in.

I could see Palisades and paradise being a bit small for flying.. your opinion?

glacier is def big enough for air assets.


I'm leaving off desolation simply because i'm not sure if the visibility is enough to fly.

SA_Paradise in it's pre-public incarnation had full aero and VTOL presence on the map.  I can't speak to Palisades or Glacier.
 
Generally, for maps that are considered too small for full-aerospace inclusion, VTOLs are enough (i.e. Inferno).  Unfortunately the current version of Inferno has a hard 600m ceiling (and that is above map absolute 0m, not the ground) which combined with the current light kinetic multipliers of the various AA ammos make flying VTOLs a deathwish.

Glacier could use air its so big,, but  the theme is around 4 dropships..    is there a dropship that makes air assets?

But many players are damn happy that there is no flying stuff on marshes (or the damn great SA_Palisades by Salvatoris).
On the otherhand I would also welcome a pure aero-map. Perhaps set up high in the mountains or an ultra deep canyon. Or in an asteroide field... (2 dropships fighting each others -> a place for BAs as well)

Ok, its just my opinion, but I don't wanna have each map designed for all kinds of units. I would prefer to have some unique maps.
But maybe this kind of maps is a job for the community mappers...

TLL Matchbox #3 is now running SA_Paradise and SA_Palisades with SA_Sanblasted in a 75 Minutes non-random rotation.

I think an all aero map would be funny fun.    I so suck at aero, as many others prob are too, but it would be a kick..   perhaps FSAC will run a game of our own with just aero buys. lol

Lrm boats can be a problem on Paradise, but i think VTOL's would be enough, don't think i'd like aero on Palisades though.
There is plenty of cover on Paridise, use the trees, just gotta be carfeful, they're not all passable though, kinda fun though.
I haven't played Glacier yet, and I don't think Desolation needs any air power either.  I can't fly either, so it really doesn't matter much to me, there's more than one way to skin a cat!!!!!(boaters and snipers that is)
