I don't know what the rest of you think but I feel Gauss Rifles and especially PPCs should have a faster muzzle velocity. It doesn't necessarily have to be instantaneous like in MW4 but at least nearly twice as fast so that you don't have to lead a kilometer when you're trying to hit a moving target at max range. It'd get slightly easier that way.
One problem/bug that also has to be dealt with is how especially gauss rifles and ppcs fire off the reticle. It has been mentioned before and I believe a dev said its just a graphical error or something, that it doesn't actually fire the round in the wrong direction. Either way it confuses me all the time when I try to adapt to the misconception(?) that my gun is actually firing off the crosshairs by several meters (depending on the distance).
Also an mw3-style targeting computer (the target lead indicator thing) would also be a nice thing in the game as it could help some people in trying to hit moving targets from afar.

Devs stated that this issue is fixed so, I presume, Gauss rounds flying off the reticule would bug us no more in 0.3.0. ;)

I love PPCs.  The Awesome C is my favorite mech, I think.  It does amazing damage when everything is working smoothly.

It's a huge pain when you play on a server where you've got any sort of desync or server-side lag though.  Having your shots vanish server-side when they're dead on (especially with the leading required and the cooldown you've got to suffer through a miss) really sucks, especially compared to the better hit detection for direct fire or lock-on weapons.

It happens on a variety of servers with a variety of pings.  I've had it happen in 1v1 servers and on massive games, and on various maps, so I don't know that it's a server-overloaded issue (like, for example, Clearcut with max players).  I've even had it happen separate from warping, so I'm not really sure what the underlying issue is; if I was, I'd submit a bug report, but otherwise I'm not too sure my complaining will be helpful without an analysis of a common theme to work off of.

Suffice to say that I have no problems with the PPC balance-wise, but something in the code may need to be tweaked to give it more reliable performance!

Now where do I know the same DracheM from... Did you ever play Battlefield 2 on the PC by chance?

I've gotten used to this game, and I have to say, when your connection is good, the PPCs are EXCELLENT long range weapons. Infinite range + decent damage + heat/flinching on enemy 'Mech only hampered by all-over-'Mech-damage-spread.

When there is a problem with the connection, though, the PPC tends to simply vanish. I've shot 3 or 4 times on stationary targets at 1000 metres only to see the shots disappear on contact, followed by PPC hit effects above and around the opposing 'Mech.

agreed, usually when im playing a game i only have to lead a target by miniscule amounts (big BC2 guy here), the amounts requered to lead by ppcs and gauss atm feel silly and arcade-ish.

PPCs suck?

Lasers:  Do damage

PPCs:  Do damage, knock, and heat build up on target.

Of course they're gonna do less damage, they do more all together.
