This legal crap has effected me more than I had realised. I was watching a first season episode of Robotech when at the end it flashed the Harmony Gold logo. Instantly my pillow sprang from my hand (all by itself) and took out my monitor. fapp you harmony gold!!!!

If it's on PC we better have dedicated server options!

A lot of developers are doing this for PC games with 360 ports/360 games with PC ports, unfortunately. Red Faction Guerrilla is on both the PC and Xbox 360, and on the PC it uses Games For Windows Live and has no dedicated servers  ::)

Whoa, you saying some games have no dedicated servers and you are forced to play multiplayer on P"P connections???
I tried that once, never again.
Way too much shit going on that way.

So...I know this topic is ultra old, but there's no reason to make a new one. Plus, this is a Mechwarrior forum, and lack of discussion on the possible, long-awaited sequel is unacceptable! :D

Has anyone heard anything new about this? Or perhaps have a contact who could tell us more...?

On the PC and 360 issue...here's hoping we don't get Windows Live bullshit, and get dedis, but outside of that... as long as the game doesn't get TOO simplified, a cross-platform launch could be the best thing to happen to the Mechwarrior franchise in a long while. A stream of watered-down, but popular Mechwarrior titles is better than a single, unsuccessful release, with our franchise falling into obscurity once more - keep in mind that popularity introduces the possibility of spinoffs. Also, Jordan Weisman's personally behind this one...

EDIT: Whoa. July. Whoops. Okay, maybe I should have left this alone...

No News from the west.
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

Tbh even if the game is pretty vanilla, you know there's going to be some pretty hardcore simulation mod spawned from it.

Well i hope so anyway.

IIRC it's running Unreal Engine 3, which is very moddable unless the developers disable it (MIRRORS EDGE  >:()

Yeah that's what got my hopes up, i mean I know it's possible due to games like Red Orchestra spawning from unreal engine based stuff.

highly unlikely they would release mod tools since it'll be released on console and it really appears that's their core audience.  Also no news is bad news since we never heard them get a publisher or get the HG issues resolved.
