MWLL: Feature Release
« on: June 06, 2010, 10:01:24 PM »
Just to prove that the MWLL team does listen to the needs of the community, we wanted to show you that we do indeed implement some of them as they are appropriate.

Since we typically do not discuss features prior to the release of patches, our lead LUA programmer Ingrater suggested that we deliver the glimpse of this new feature in a more unique way.

Can you guess what feature this is?

This feature and many, many others will be included in the upcoming MechWarrior: Living Legends 0.3.0 release.

But I have to ask: at least in this bit of code I don't see the APC as an exception... Is that intentional, or is the code just not 100% done yet?

Also big kudos to ingrater for... being ingrater :D

looks to me like BA having the ability to pickup weapons, either from fallen BA or mechs/vehicles

Sure it felt different but so did my wife after the kids were born. A little loose but it still gets me off every time. -- Suspect

Laser is dropped when entering vehicles and when buying weapons if it's not the default one (thus you don't need to drop it manually)

You can pick up weapons with Activate/Enter/Use key (usually "F", the same you use to enter a vehicle), and drop them with "J" key.

You can store up to 2 handheld weapons, you spawn with the beamlaser as your default weapon. Now you can buy or pick up a second weapon, but if you want to buy some third weapon, you have to drop the laser first.

This script runs each time you buy a weapon and seems to detect if the lazor is not your default weapon (you bought something else), and if it's not, it drops it to make a space for the weapon you just bought.

I just have the link you want, but our Forum Mods seem not to like it. Sorry!
