Media Release: SA Mirage
« on: June 10, 2010, 06:43:47 AM »
"Set in a heavily eroded canyon, this expansive battleground has been cut by wind, water, and time.  An intricate system of deep valleys funneling into a wide open center make for as diverse and deadly a killing field as can be found on Blackjack..."

SA Mirage   SA Mirage

SA Mirage   SA Mirage

SA_Mirage features numerous deep valleys, cliffs and rock outcroppings setting up a challenging battle arena for MechWarriors.  The rugged terrain offers Battle Armour opportunities for both ambush attacks and reconnaisance roles.  The map supports all of the vehicle types in MechWarrior: Living Legends.  Multiple paths available between the two main base areas allow players to make a choice between engaging in the central battle area or flanking along an outside path.

Additional media for SA Mirage is available in the Media Gallery.

SA_Mirage will be included with many other assets and improvements in the upcoming MechWarrior: Living Legends 0.3.0 release.

More excited about that Mad Cat under construction. Very nice touch.

It sounds different at least, and different is good.

The Madcat and Owens are a nice touch, but I'm pretty sure they're just cosmetic.  Also, that Owens in the other pics looks like it's moving funny, like either off balance or really fast.

Yeah, but it would be totally awesome if we could watch our mechs get built instead of them spawn in front of our eyes. One can always hope.

Plus, it really lends to the theme of a Mech Base, having stuff like that.

This wasn't here 5 minutes ago!

I knew there was a reason I was lurking around the MWLL boards rather than writing my stats essay  :)

Agreed, however this pic is a different angle on that shot, I think, showing them clearly outside the mech hangar, which implies that they're simply cosmetic.  Also, I just noticed the color coding on the bases' lights; nice touch that.

I do wonder why the hangar still belongs to the Federated Suns..

This pic right?

Actually could that be a new animation? I haven't played for awhile but I remember that when light mechs ran they didn't take long strides, but just faster normal size ones which made them look slightly funny at times. Maybe they've added different running animations for light mechs? That would be awesome

Yeah, that's the pic.  I was thinking that too, as longer animated strides means more believable motion at higher speeds.

That is the current theory.. if so, a new animator could realize a lot of the ideas drifting around the forum
