1. It seems as if AA weaponry has been shifted from overpowered in 2.0 to even more underpowered than 1.0 AA.  It's probably a combination of reducing the damage multipliers on 'light' armors for AC's and MG's and increasing aircraft armor, but as a Harasser C emptying  a full clip of 800x2 MG bullets on a Sulla will not take it down (assuming 45% of the bullets would hit), whereas in 1.0 it would take about 1/2 a magazine, 1/3 if your aim was good or they were flying directly at you.  My sample size is approx. 8 matches piloting a Harasser vs. aircraft. (can't say much about the AC/5 and RAC/2 as I have not tested those).

Thats quite impossible, as the modifiers are still much higher than they were in 0.1.0.  My RAC2/MG2 Uziel almost took out a Shiva in a pass and a half last night, and that was with limited firing arcs.

1.  No new game mode.

Simple.  Spent a while on a server yesterday running Thunder Valley or whatever it's called.  TLL Toth was on the server and asked "Why is everyone funnelling to this one area?", as the entire server was squaring off over a bridge between the two bases.

Direct answer - game modes.  You've got this great big beautiful map with valleys, high ground, choke points, water....doesn't mean anything.  While we're limited to TDM, the only part of a map that will EVER get played is the direct route to the enemy.  You will see flanking on maps like Marshes and Sandblasted, as they're easily navigated around, but once you throw in hills and valleys etc, noone will go anywhere else without a reason.

This isn't a complaint, or a whine.  I've been in and out of MWLL since the first release, got lots of clan mates to play it, we even bought a server for it during the .1 days.  Love the mod, really fantastic.  I just want to urge the Devs to realise that game modes really should be top priority, above all else.  No end of new Mechs or Planes or Maps will take away or improve upon TDM.

Thumbs up, keep rocking.

Yeah, the Aero and AA balance is good right now.  My only problem is the air to air fighters just don't have potent enough weaponry considering how hard it is to hit one fighter from another.  They're basically pointless, as you'd be better served by taking a ground based AA platform.

The only upside to the fighters is that the serve as a powerful distraction to other Aeros.  You're not going to line up for a bombing run with a couple of ACs on your tail, even if those ACs can't actually kill you for a few minutes.

I see a lot of comments about the length or darkness of night on some maps.  Is it how dark it gets or how long it stays dark that really bothers people?  It was our intention to make night visions necessary, or at least very helpful.  Clearcut should be getting a lot darker than before, but the night is shorter than it was in 0.2, while  Mirage and Marshes have much longer night cycles than any of the other maps.  Which maps specifically are bothering you the most with the new night settings?

I like the new night *thank ye devs*
however better night vision maybe? I think that is what is causing a lot of the griping bout night.
Ranking is to slow now
Crackling noise
some lag *whens the switch to Wars happening?*
Thunder seems to claim most servers, only got one full game on it.

We want wireframe mode from MW2!

(might help with framerate issues too =)

For me, It is not how dark it gets ( I actually prefer a realistic DARK night and  having to use NV for the duration) it is just the duration.  It just feels like the maps that do cycle lighting are always night.  The maps I've most noticed were Mirage and Marshes.  I wouldnt be surprised to learn that it was actually a 50:50 split on night vs day, but it just FEELS like it 70:30 Night vs day

Fairly sure how often it's dark, especially across several maps in a row sometimes, that's a bother.

  • Balance between IS and Clan is way off (only at start and late game) due to Clans lacking a faster light Mech which is affordable and some medium chassis as well as some more assault class mechs.
  • Still some balance problems with the weapons, UAC too weak, Micro Heavy Laser to strong (isn't Clan only anyway?)
  • I'd really love to actually play Frostbite without the most severe level of snowstorm otherwise that is my new fave map
  • BA weapons are way too cheap, they should be a bit more expensive so not everyone can BA up after wrecking his mech
  • Some new loadouts are just plain stupid like Scat A & B Puma B and most other changes which were for the worse rather than for the better

But afterall I've only played like 8 hours yet. So I might post here again if I may. Now to the 10 things I like most. :)

Personally how dark the darkness of night is and should be is spot on for a map like Marshes, - some - daylight does eventually finnally finnally shed on the map after a long time of play but its barely enough to help players simply be able to make things out a lil better without nightvision. I think whats missing is experiencing a High-Noon daylight, to Pure Midnight and back again cycle. (if it does reach a high-noon day light then yeah, its maybe coming around to slowly for servers that run 60min or less matches)

Well last night I was on Frostbite and at night the puffy Particle Effects kicked in ... complete snow blindness ... kinda like flying at night under Instument Landing System (ILS) ... I think Korjax alluded to the fact that snow blizzards should not be happening at night on Frostbite ... this may be a bug ... but whatever ... this is not a good thing ... Frostbite is a beautiful map ... just tone down the frequency and intensity of the snow particle effects.

Only a few things I don't really HATE but could do without...

-Connection timeouts....
-flashes from incoming ac rounds hitting your turret being so bright with nightvision while in tanks...
-noobs running around helplessly in the dark, crying

  • U/AC10 and U/AC20 still firing too slow for my liking and heats up too fast, I'd be happy to trade damage for higher ROF and lower heat.
  • I'd like to believe it's because people are still getting used to 0.3.0, but aerospace now seem a little too hard to kill with ACs.
  • Night time and night vision. Conceptually messy. You'd think they'd have largely perfected night vision in the 32nd century, maybe a combination of II/IR/UV. But perfect night vision defeats the point of a day/night cycle in a game, doesn't it? Then the question is whether poor night vision (and hilariously dim front lights) to forcibly differentiate day/night combat is appreciated by players of a 32nd century battletech simulator.
  • Server stability seems way down. (Technically, this ties with reworked Extremities map: too visually crowded, no longer feels much like "space")
  • Jack of trades/ranges Bushy. Put MRM on Bushy versions that have ACs, please.
Honk if you like cookies (and think Oro should have a greater turret elevation)!

I like the dark and I always have been pro night.  The day night cycle is just a bit too slow. It would be pretty cool if it could all be randomized each time the map loads.
