Please Help Me Get My Joystick Working
« on: July 25, 2010, 12:18:00 PM »
Hi.  I'm running MWLL 0.3.2 and trying to use my Saitek x65F Hands-on Throttle and Stick with the game.  Clicking "Test Joystick" shows all six axes and all eight basic buttons along with the POV hat working perfectly.  The test program also responds properly when I use the tension adjustment buttons on the throttle.  I have configured the Original action map to work with the controllers (I also tried one under a different name).  The program detects all axes and buttons properly during configuration.  This map has been set as active.  So far so good.

The problem happens when I run the game.  I connect to a server, get into the game, and there is no effect whatsoever from the controllers.  Normal keyboard and mouse operations work perfectly, but the only functions from the HOTAS that work are the buttons programmed to emulate the keyboard.  All joystick axes, and all eight joystick buttons fail to function.

Obviously, I have missed something.  I just have no idea what that would be.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Additional details: When I run the config program, it automatically detects my personal profile.  I have tried connecting with a server both with the profile loaded and not loaded.  No dice either way.

Sorry.  It's resolved.  I have two USB dance pads plugged in.  I just had to set the joystick number to 3, and my HOTAS started working.  It doesn't quite work correctly, but I'm sure that there won't be any real problem.  The oddest problem so far is that the forward and backward motion of the throttle is inverted.  I have to pull back to go forward and vice versa.

Okay.  Not quite resolved.  Everything is working, but the joystick test program is detecting the throttle axis as inverted, and I can't find any way to invert the axis whether through the Saitek profiler, the mapping program or through MWLL itself.

Okay.  Found it.  It's in the config program.
