I'm struggling with Crysis as it is, so I was curious as to what was going on here, what with MWLL's moving support and all. (We'll see how it handles with extra RAM I intend buying, but still.)

wWarhead is a little better but its nothing amazing. Extra ram is gonna do anything to your fps., only your load times.

Need a better graphic card if you want to play MWLL better. Which is gonna be a tad hard in a laptop.

Yep you are going to need a better video card if you are wanting to run it better. Hell, I have 2xGeForce 275 SLI and I still have problems running this dang game sometimes. It's beautiful though:)

As far as i know warheads engine is much more optimised then crysis. I remember having problems with framerate when playing crysis, and when i installed warhead i was very happy to see it ran smoothly. Dont know how it will be with mwll, tho, there may be other assets in play that could hog your system anyway. But its encouraging to know warhead ran much better

The thing is it runs at perfectly acceptable FPS at min settings (+1280*800 resolution) when there's 8 people on the server, but becomes a stutterfest (typically with normal framerates in between stutters) once the player counts start rising.
I could use more RAM for TF2 anyway.

I wouldn't call that acceptable ;). And more ram is very very unlikly to help you. Crysis on max settings in dx10, uses 1.4gb ish. On min settings I really doubt it goes over 1gb ever. So you are very unlikly using all your ram to run crysis. That doesn't mean ram upgrade is a bad idea, just I can't imagine it effecting crysis or mwll much at all, if at all.

I'd hate to bump a month-old thread, but this RAM boost really, really helped. No more stuttering, and I can now run the game on all maps at good framerates (+30 fps); the only unplayable situations I get are when I look out at the lakes at this one point on SA_ThunderRift.

i would compare the switch to wars about like our latest hotfix- alot of small bug fixes that most people don't pick up on though we're all glad finally got implemented. i can vouche through personal experience that there's no major gains in fps but i did notice it was more stable- less major (or/and unexpected) fps drops. everyones system is different and handles the game in different ways though, so some may see no improvement at all, some may wet themselves- it's alot harder to judge a game on a community of all different systems than it is for consoles- eveyone is the same

so does this mean that my computer might actually be able to run Crysis Wars/Warhead?

my stats are here: http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/forum/index.php/topic,9727.msg141985.html#msg141985

I hope the answer is yes.

No amount of performance optimization can make up for the fact that you don't have a video card.

I think he's hoping the more he asks the same question the more likely his integrated graphics chip will work.
