Sounds like maybe we have something here?  Can anyone else confirm if they are getting a gamelog file that they shouldn't be?  It doesn't make sense that Clearcut and Inferno should be causing a performance drop for me otherwise.  Clearcut is loading faster than ever but after about an hour I can barely move.  It also might be linked to the number of assets that join the server over time? Whatever the case it seems performance deteriorates over time. S O S.  This is really ruining the game for me and I haven't had issues likes this ever in the last 6 months.  If we could at least pinpoint a cause then it could be fixable and not a figment of imagination.

If I understand this right then the issue is more of a CPU than GPU issue.  Anyway I'm tired.  Thanks for the detective work folks.

I have the slowdown, I also have a 1.6MB game.log file with MWLL related content in my crysis folder.  The last entries in the file are from when I last played today.  I hope to god this is the cause, and that it can be easily resolved.  This slowdown is getting obnoxious.  Mad props to korjax if he just pulled this cause out of his ass because it sounded right and it turns out to be correct.

Also, this thread seems to be talking about the same thing as mine in the tech forums.  Some people listed other ideas in there: http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/forum/index.php/topic,9326.0.html

That's not the MWLL crash logging.  The crash logging is done specifically in a "Crash Log" folder inside the mygames/crysis/mwll directory and each log is a seperate file that is dated in the filename.

Seeing as that isn't what you guys have, then it's not the logging. I doubted it was that anyways.

Although I posted in the thread in the tech forum, I'll also post here: I've also suffered a performance drop (Win 7 64 bit). I tried deleting the shader cache, but that didn't help. Aside from general FPS drops, I also get occasional 2-4 second freezes.

Type "profile 6" into the console when you get low FPS and it says what exactly is causing the biggest performance hits in frametime (the higher the frametime the worse).  Personally my performance remains the same with a 9600GT and a QX6850...

9800GT here and I'll try that "profile 6" when I'm ingame next

The "new" particle effects for frostbite are also not new they are the same exact ones used before.  Actually they are even more optimized since I dropped the particle count from 3000 to around 2000. Not to mention the map should auto-reduce the view distances during snowstorms to 1300m as well.

Frostbite dropped to a miserable 12 FPS last night during the snow storm, I went inside the base and FPS was above 40 - so something is happening. Basically I can play until it starts snowing and then I have to look for a clearer climate.

I'm thinking it's something beyond map-related issues. It almost sounds like you guys are running the mod with the crash-logging enabled from the sounds of things (causes FPS droppings signifigantly for those with slower CPU's), but I highly doubt that.

I can assure you I have NO crash logging enabled that I'm aware of but if you can tell me how to look for it on my PC I will gladly turn it off to test that theory. Lastly in the 2.0 version I could get 50 - 60 FPS on most maps but with 3.0 my FPS has taken a huge hit. It's not a I"m quitting this game type hit but it is certainly a "pick certain maps" type hit until something comes along to explain the drop in FPS.

The crash logging is built into the .dll files so there wouldn't be a way to disable it if you do somehow have logging. It should have been removed from the dll files though for the public release. I guess a way to make sure is if have a documents/my games/crysis/mwll/crash logs folder and if there is anything inside there that is recently dated.  If you do, then the logging is enabled for some reason.

No logging in the public DLLs. It's disabled since it's a performance hit.

Back to square one I guess.

We practice on our "Custom" maps tonight, I'll check and see if we are having the same type degradation in FPS.

Yo Korjax, your build seems similar to mine, what fps you get at what settings I would like to know?
I have been lazy about re overclocking my cpu after it was crashing because of some stupid video encoding program I was trying so mine is at 2.6Ghz quad core, I'm thinking about getting it back up to either 3.0 or 3.2 Anyways, I have 9600 GTs SLI, that should be better than one in this case right? >.>
I run DX10 with 8gigs of 1066ram DDR2 (oldz), which mode do you run in? thanks.

I run DX9 since it looks exactly like DX10 except with better performance.

My CPU is a QX6850 which is a high end quad core at 3.0ghz and 4GB of RAM, so my only real bottle neck is my single 9600GT as far as performance goes, and it seems to do me fine. I don't try and run crysis on very high settings or anything at a really high resolution though. I run a mix between high a medium, at 1400x900

I have FINALLY nailed down the reason of 8 constant, nerve-racking 8 fps.

Its the bloody environment effects. Frostbite is IMPOSSIBLE to play, as is marshes with all the bleeding flying glow-stick insects.
Also adding to this is the missile smoke.
These two (but especially the env effects) eat CPU like theres no tomorrow. My gfx card seems to be coping, but for some reason my cpu isnt.
People with faster CPUs dont have that problem, though.

C2D E6600. (2.71ghz).

Yup, that's what i've been telling them since day 1  :o , but to no avail. This has stayed the same since 0.1.0  ::)

Question for those with good and bad FPS in 0.3.0

are you guys running the CCC pack?

Yup

Also 1 more question:

How should I set my post processing to get the best FPS. Currently I have high.
..., but this is battletech, and sense is often not made.

Dx9 on max settings doesn't look as good as Dx10 on max settings, I've looked! Maybe it's all in my head...

So those with CCC is your performance the same or worse than in 0.2.0?

Much worse.  I was getting 60 fps in the hangar stairs but getting 20 now.
